Jade Plants and Mealybugs
So I have several jade plants in my home and they all seem to periodically struggle with mealybug infestations. I keep following the same protocol- removal with cotton swabs, spraying with Neem oil, sprinkling with diatomaceous earth, and isolation. I’ve even added systemic granules to the soil. But it seems like no matter what I do, they come back. I’m sort of tired of seeing my plants covered in diatomaceous earth, which is just unattractive. How do I get rid of these for once and for all? The newest victim is my Ripple Jade (just noticed the beginnings of an infestation this morning). Is there something better I can do maintenance wise to keep reinfestation from happening? (Bugs aren’t really visible in pictures. The white you see is diatomaceous earth.)

Help!! I have 4 houseplants that are suffering and idk how to help. They are all in the same area so I’m assuming that’s why they’re all affected. I first noticed my monstera adansonii had new leaves that would turn brown before they opened. I thought it was an issue with soil being wet, and after I repotted it in terracotta it seemed to improve. But then I found leaves that looked brown and like they had been eaten, but no visible signs of bugs. Then the leaf on my alocasia zebra started dying and I thought it was growing a new leaf and shedding the old one, but the new leaf hasn’t come and I saw a mealy bug on there. I hosed off all the plants in the area and treated them with neem oil, and repeated the process a week later. Now here I am a week later and I still see small mealy bugs on the zebrina, and all of the other plants in the area now have these brown rust spots. Is it rust? Or is it related to the bugs? I’ve only seen the mealy bugs on the zebrina, and can’t see anything else on the others. I don’t want to lose these plants!

It’s fall/winter here in the U.S. Is it ok to repot during this time of the year? A couple of my plants need it badly.

So my coleus that I have had for about three years now is starting to turn a dark brown colour and all the leaves are wilting off. This plant was healthy for three years and I haven’t changed anything it still is the same distance from my window and it’s getting the same amount of water. Does anyone know what could possibly be the problem with it?

What in the WORLD. So this happened to my dieffenbachia a few months ago so I chopped her head off and stuck her in water to save her. And let me tell you, she THRIVED in water. She grew her roots back so I repotted her. Now she is dying again. Part of me just wants to keep her in water because it seems that’s the only way she will be happy. Any thoughts??

Found this leaf and cut it as well as a smaller one with these strange spots yesterday, any ideas? The soil was fairly dry so it was watered after as well which is actually why I found this.

I’ve had this Striped Calathea for about 2 months now and it’s done extremely well, i’ve trimmed the small dried off leaves and watered/misted according to the app. I woke up today and the leaves are all curling!

The black spots started popping up, they wipe right off but they’ve spread from plant to plant. Any ideas? I can find nothing online that gets even close.

To help with my (I believe to be, alocasia black velvet- im new to this plant. Its first one Ive owned and not confident of the name!) ive had it for maybe 3-4 weeks at this point… repotted already now and Fresh soil and before repotting i lost a leaf the same way as this is currently Yellowing and and after repotting is doing this again.. i am in a colder state so maybe the soil being wet this long is causing this problem? I haven’t watered it in about 2 weeks almost and soil is still wet!

hi everyone! i’m new to this app/group/being a plant owner, so i apologize if this question has already been asked! i’m having some trouble with gnats around my plants. i’ve made some little apple cider vinegar with sugar and dish soap bowls placed around my place, but i was curious if y’all have any tips that help with the actual plants?

This lil guy has been so well behaved and then, over the last few days, his leaves are starting to droop and looks so sad! i repotted like 2/3 weeks ago after finding mesh wrapped around the roots and i felt the best thing was to remove it but it now seems so mad at me? any ideas?? could it maybe just be down to the cold?? (i’m in year 1 of house plants and this is my first winter ahhh!!)

I have a fiddle leaf fig and I’ve noticed tiny black spots that flake off easily and then some stuff that looks like dirt develop on some of the leaves. Curious if anyone has any ideas. I’m new to houseplants so not sure if I should be wiping down the leaves every so often to give them a cleaning?
