I just got 5 new houseplants mailed to me and my boyfriend found a flea for the first time ever. We don’t have any pets and the only new thing we’ve introduced is the plants. Can plants carry fleas and if so how do I kill them without killing my plants?
I have 2 cuttings and the original pothos, all three seem to be struggling in their own ways. Any advice is appreciated. The first is in water. Idk why leaves are turning yellow. Maybe I replaced water with tap instead of distilled? South facing window. The second is in a self-watering pot. Recently repotted with indoor potting soil and perlite mix. Why the brown spots? New babies shrivel up. Also south facing window. The last and original is actually doing pretty well but it takes a longer time than it (seemingly) should to dry in between watering. Outside, south facing covered porch. Super humid and hot this time of year.
My monstera has these brown spots that just run right off (powdery) on many back leaves! What do I do?
FILTER FOR GARDEN TAP My flowerbed is watered using an irrigation system connected directly to mains, and I’d love to add a filter for both chlorine and limescale removal, to help the more sensitive plants. Is installing such filters a good idea? Looking for a general chat on the subject. I can only find filters that either do gasses, or limescale, not both. Which would be better to eliminate? Any sharing of experience, including products used, would be appreciated
This is the before and after of my pineapple plant. It was healthy a week ago and it just started turning yellow and I don’t think they turn yellow this early. I got it in February (first picture). And now it’s like this.
My corn plant was once a beauty. I've been getting a lot of black dead leaves lately, so I repotted her today into a smaller pot. I think my soil was too compacted and dry and one of my stalks was dying, so I cut it back. I'm not sure if it will grow back but it's worth a try.
This is the 3rd leaf this week that has died on me. Can someone tell me what I'm missing?
*UPDATE: One additional question: I just noticed today that one of my calatheas’ leaves are weighing down its stems. Is this a problem or will they get stronger?* Forgive me for the wet leaves, I had just misted them… My calethea leaves are browning on the edges and I see some spotting on a couple of them. Also, I don’t know if it’s normal but the top of the leaf stems seem off-color. I didn’t get a picture but even though I’m getting new shoots, the base of the plant has a lot of browning on stems and low leaves. I follow instructions for watering with Planta, delaying if the top inch of soil isn’t dry, and I mist them daily, sometimes twice daily because we live in a very dry climate. What am I doing wrong?
My Arabian coffee is getting some white spotted leaves and pigments just happened in the last couple of days, haven’t repotted still in nursery pot and have no fertilized.
Hello all, my zucchini plant is having some strange behavior these white veins came out of no where! Still shooting out zucchini’s but don’t know the cause of the sickly leaves
I’ve had this rubber plant since April, and it was growing little leaves on the bottom for a while. But whenever I would check on them, they fell off at the slightest touch. Now I haven’t seen growth in a while. Is there something I can do to help this?
A little spotty yellowing in some of my fiddle leaf fig leaves. Not enough water? She sits in a SE facing window. The leaves are a bit dirty, I know I should probably clean them so she can absorb more light?

First Beryll, then, 5 days of rain. Now, 5 more days of rain to top off the first 5 days and triggering daily Flash Flood Watches. I’ve seen enough of July! I spend my days ushering tree frogs and toads out the back door after they follow the dogs inside looking for dry land and a/c. I spend a lot of time picking snails off my plants and windows. ☔️🐌
I have a fishtail fern that is getting a lot of dry spots. Noticed it when I was cleaning it off today and I was wondering if the new growth in the middle is supposed to look like that? Thanks in advance. Oh and it has a few of those little holes that look like insect marks though I didn't see any insects.
Does anyone know what this leafy plant is, growing in my pot? I noticed very small leaves appearing about 3 weeks ago but left it alone. It also happened to 2 of my other plants, a jade and a bonsai. A few changes happened last month to all of them: new soil and have been in the garden once I’m thinking to remove it soon, but was just curious to know what it is.
Anyone have any idea on what’s going on with my tomatoes. They get full sun from about 11am until sunset. We HAVE been struggling with cucumber beetles. Could this be bacterial wilt? ☹️ Some of the plants are ok but most are wilting. I water them every other night with the hose
these white spots have been increasing in number over the last month or so. not sure what they are. and then the colour started fading from one of the leaves. i put a grow light to shine on the underside but we’ll see if that prevents further damage. could the white spots be a fungus? it gets most of its lighting from grow lights and seems to be doing fine. it even has a new growth. i just watered today because it was bone dry and then i put the globe in the soil. the globe is new so it couldn’t be because of that. any thoughts??
Can anyone tell me why my calathea is yellowing and brown tips. I water with rain water only when it looks droopy and I use a meter gauge
I repotted my arrowhead plant because she had mealy bugs from the store I bought it from. Now she’s all droopy, IDK WHAT TO DO
