This plant has had it rough since I got her. 3/4 of her trunks died and had to be removed after we moved to a new apartment and i was pretty neglectful during the moving time period. Recently I’ve been a lot more attentive, following planta’s schedule and for a while she was doing a lot better with new growth. This week, however, a couple days after watering with fertilizer she started dropping leaves. Is she a goner? 🥺

I finally managed to get my hands on a silver sword philodendron a few weeks ago and considering I’ve wanted one for the longest, I quickly fell in love with it. Shortly after bringing it home though, these weird spots began showing up on the leaves. I’ve been careful not to overwater it, kept it close to a west facing window and regularly treated the leaves with a spray. But yesterday, after losing multiple leaves, I made the difficult decision to remove any that looked diseased to stop any kind of spread.
This plant is one of my favorites, so I would hate to see it die. Everything I’ve read seems to indicate leaf spot disease, which I’ve never dealt with before, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Are these dark spots on my monstera something to worry about? They’re on the petiole of a newer leaf, worried it may be fungal but wasn’t sure if it was just physical damage, wanted to make sure. (Also pls ignore the dust on this guy 😅)

Rest in pieces, wobble cactus 😔 It was doing just fine and then today I found it droopy and shriveled. Does anyone know what might’ve gone wrong?
Hopefully I can propagate the remaining healthy bits.

And back again with more plant issues. My monstera’s have mold that grows on the bottom and around some sides of the pot. This was never an issue until about a week and a half ago and I have no idea what’s causing it! One is a terracotta pot the other is a stone? Or maybe clay pot? I bought both from Home Depot. Anyone know how to treat this problem & prevent it in the future?
At this rate I’m feeling like the worst plant parent ever 🤦🏻♀️

does anyone else LOVE plants but HATE bugs? i am actually terrified of bugs, they make my ears ring. pests have been such a problem because of that. any advice?

This is one of our oldest plants, we’ve had it for around 5 years. Does anyone know what these little holes are under the leaves? We don’t want to lose it! Also any general advice is welcome. It’s hard to see in this picture but there are aerial roots coming from the big bend in the plant on the right. I love my plants but I’m not the best caretaker and I know I have plenty of room for improvement. I love that this forum is here and I look forward to making the most of it! 💜

Do you use herbicide and/or insecticide on your house plants?

Please help! I got my first Peperomia a couple months ago and I cannot figure out what this plant needs. I was told it’s supposed to be fairly easy to take care of but no matter what I’ve tried it just keeps getting worse. I read online that it’s a sort of tropical plant so I tried putting it in my greenhouse cabinet to increase its humidity, it didn’t seem to like that so I tried putting it with my regular plants and that hasn’t helped either. I’ve tried putting it closer to a light source, noticed that a lot of the leaves were turning brown around the edges and thought they might be getting burn spots so then I tried putting it farther away from the light. I do not think it is overwatered, I check to make sure the top 1-2 inches of soil is dry before I water it. I also don’t think it’s under watered because I’ve been following the watering schedule and have also been watching it and water it early if I notice it’s looking particularly dry. The pot also has a drainage hole and there’s a layer of gravel at the bottom of the pot to give the roots extra room and oxygen. No matter what I do it’s continued to droop and the leaves turn brown. What am I doing wrong?

This is my grandmother’s peace lily. I’m not there, so I can’t inspect in person, and I don’t have any peace lilies, so I don’t really know them that well anyway. She’s had this for decades, but just repotted it last summer. Ever since, it has not been doing well. Any suggestions?

Alocasia Leafs drooping and then yellowing one by one. I’ve already cut two off so far that were almost completely yellow.

I’m so sick of her. My first though was pests, but there’s nothing moving.
Have I watered her correctly? Nah. Does she get the right amount of light? Probably not. BUT DAMN. So fussy. How do people get these to thrive? Is it even possible?

I have released this years first batch of predatory mites, on all my plants, to battle thrips. I’m a huge fan of Bio-control and have used it both professionally and on my private plant collection. 🐞
Have you tried any predatory insects or mites to deal with plant pests?

The biggest leaf on my elephant ear is drooping and yellowing. Is it just it’s time to go or is there anything I can do to help her:(

Hi Planta Community! I bought this plant a few months ago, and repotted it in a mix of potting soil, bark and perlite. It seem to be doing fine, but yesterday I found it had fallen over and the root system did not seem to have grown so much. Should I do something differently?

Friendly reminder: Don’t forget to check up on your Dormant plants! 😆 An aphid invasion on my Canna plant that is currently stored in a cool and dark place. A bit of soap and wipe and they were eradicated. 🪲
