Does a puppy count as a pest? no idea but i need help keeping a certain little guy away from my plant shelf? Any tips for keeping a puppy away from vulnerable plants? He's taking plants off the shelf and trying to eat them and is constantly chewing on my tree despite the fact that he is outside for 20 minutes every hour to do his thing. My mother said to try cinnamon but the puppy ate all the cinimmon sticks-

Trying to troubleshoot my pilea- I’ve had her for about 6 months, and over the last 2ish months I’ve noticed a substantial increase in the amount of leaf dropping- left picture is a few months ago, right is now. I’ve tried adjusting lighting and sunlight… is this just a problem for these plants in the winter? Any insight would be appreciated!

Hi there! I cannot figure out what this guy needs! Actually, ever since I was gifted this plant he hasn’t been happy😐. I have repotted him in a bigger pot about a month ago, and I don’t feel I over water.. however the sunlight maybe be an issue? As soon as new leaves sprout, other leaves start to brown! Please help, what could be the problem?

Hi all. I have a burgundy rubber plant that I’ve had for about a month. The big, established leaves on the top are happy and good. The under leaves though, just fell off and look like this. They fell off with a slight touch. They are dry and crispy, not wet and mushy. No other leaf looks like these two; there are not spots of any kind on any other leaves. Any ideas?

Ok 2 things I would love advice on. First: my bonsai has white stuff at the base. I have no idea what it is and what I should do. It also has a spot on a leaf pictured below. Second and more importantly: my mom’s aloe plant (I believe) is leaning and the base is yellow with the leaves near the base crumbling. I think it might have been overwatered previously. Thanks so much.

I’ve been growing this plant in water. It’s been doing excellent except for this white stuff that’s growing on it. Idk if it’s mold or hard water build up. Anyone have advice. Also the roots are starting to look fuzzy

Octopus amate problem It’s having issues lately. Leaves are turning quickly from pristine green to more and more yellowing as shown. Had for about a year and this is the first time I’m seeing this over quite a bit of the plant. I’ve seen it occasionally effect one just one petiole but never several at once. Any ideas? It gets consistent humidity, sun, water (checked using a soil meter prior to watering). Had a bunch of scale show up and have manually cleaned them off. I’ve never seen so many turn if it’s just due to scale?

Hey guys! I’m open to any ideas and advice on how to make my tahitian bridal veil fuller? Its on a shelf about 5-6 inches away from a patio, SW facing window, and get plenty of indirect bright light. I water it every 5-8 days. I see flowers pop up here and there, and the leaves look fine. But I can’t seem to get it to grow fuller. I would appreciate any help! Thank you!!

The Planta app has identified this plant differently x3. It’s been called a pathos, a philodendron, and a monstera. Please help identify what this plant truly is. Thanks!

Help!! My Rex begonia is sad. The first photo is a few weeks after I got her. I repotted her in November and fertilized her which is the second photo. I moved her from under the grow light because her leaves looked like they were frying. Now the last photo is from today. When I got her, I repotted her and didn’t let the soil cover her roots completely. She thrived. Now well……help please.

Anyone know how to get rid of aphids?? I found some on this kalanchoe. She had some before but I thought they went away. Is that what’s making her look unhealthy?

I was gifted a beautiful philodendron gloriosum for Christmas which I would call mid-sized at the time. It was in good health and purchased from a reputable rare plant dealer. Since then it has grown quite a bit and I’ve been watering and misting it regularly (more or less as often as planta suggests for my plant). Over the last few weeks I’ve had new leaves sprouting pretty quickly. They are much larger than the leaves present before them and the top one is much taller. They appear to be healthy. My concern is with the older leaves that are smaller and further towards the base of the plant. As the newer, larger leaves have grown, they started slowly turning lighter green and eventually yellow. I’m wondering whether this is normal? Ive read that this can happen as new leaves grow because the plant is using more of its energy on producing the new leaves. I’m in Michigan and the natural light has been less than ideal seeing as that it’s winter. I’m considering giving it some artificial light but I’m wondering whether I can prevent this? I’m scheduled to refertilize her in a month or two and as far as I can tell there are no signs of pests. Please feel free to let me know if this is anything I should be concerned about. Thank you all in advance.
