Hi guys. My Persian Ivy isn’t doing well. Her leaves look limp. It’s in a porcelain pot with drainage but I believe the pot is the reason it takes a while to dry out. I think there’s root rot from consistently overly wet soil. How do I fix this ? I was considering removing it from the soil to inspect and cut the damaged roots then put it to stand in a glass of water Is that a bad idea? Please let me know the best type of soil I should get for this plant. I’m planning to move it to a terracotta pot
Advise please❤️ Healthy enough but bit leggy at bottom, can this be chopped and repotted?
Help keep my plant Donnie alive!
anyone know how i can seriously revive this plant…
So I think I I have a gnat infestation! I changed the pot/soil of her plant I thought was giving me the most problems. I water with hydrogen peroxide mixed in sometimes, and I sprinkle food grade diatomaceous earth on the surface (very thick to cover). The diatomaceous earth gets soggy once wet so I feel it helps the gnats in the long run. I try to keeps fresh dry layer on top. I also bottom water the plants that I can. I use the yellow sticky traps as well. I just can’t seem to get rid of them. I even bought gnat catching machine, which barely works! I’m so sick of the gnats!! HELP ME PLEASE!! 🤦🏽♀️😂
I am finding so many gnats around my apartment and in my plants which is slowly killing them. Or at least I think so. I purchased organic cinnamon and spread around in all my plants soil. All week, I’ve been spraying all the plants with hydrogen peroxide mixed with water and that hasn’t helped. If the cinnamon doesn’t work, what can I do to get rid of these gnats or at least get them to leave my plants alone. I also have little bowls of apple cider vinegar and dish soup sitting out in a few different spots around my apartment. TIA!
any reason why my elephant ear has splotches like this? all the other leaves look perfect
i have a siam aurora and some of its leaves are getting brown and wilted (not crunchy) it had a self watering pot and im thinking maybe too much water?? help please
My jade plant is getting what looks like scales..I think it’s because my plants are stationed near a vent (only place available to have them)..my question is, if the air is too dry can I mist the jade? I know it’s like a succulent so I’m worried about rotting. I don’t know how else to fix the issue! Any recommendations? Also that yellow leaf completely broke off and was very wrinkled. I’ve been sticking to Planta’s care routine instructions and haven’t watered outside of what it tells me. But when I scan it in the app, it says could be lack of drainage (the pot has drainage so that’s not it). Or it says overwatering, but it’s been almost 7 days since the last watering. Any ideas? Only thing I can think is that maybe my my grow light put it in shock and the air dried it out. Idk though. 🤷🏼♀️
Cat ate my rattlesnake plant, any tips to revive it?
so I rescued this plant from someone at work last week. it had tons of extremely dry, dead leaves that I cut off and I also cut it out of its tiny root cage that the roots were crammed into. The roots looked healthy and white, no signs of rot. it got a thorough watering (last friday) and the soil is still moist a few inches down. is there anything else i should do other than wait? does it have any chance of being healthy again?
Help! Does anyone have thoughts on what went wrong with this Piper Crocatum?? It spent 2 days in the mail and then 2 days after I received it, it looked like this. The leaves are super floppy and a few just fell off. As soon as I received it I put it under a grow light. The soil was damp so I didn't water it. Not sure how to save it!! 😭
this is my magesty palm and the tips have turned brown and yellow. any reason as to why?
Is this transfer shock? I just bought this lavender and repotted it almost 2 weeks ago, it did really well the first week and then this week it started wilting. I avoided watering after repotting and it gets sun for most of the day.
Can anyone identify this plant?
I’m not sure if I need to cut this leave off. This is my alocasia Jackie, I’ve had her about 3 weeks now and she’s very young. I’m not sure if these marks are debris or something pushing out of her leaves. They appeared to be imbedded two days ago and now they seem to be ”emerging”, (staring at it for periods of time and nothing appears to move) one of them had either a tail or a dark strand on it and that’s now gone as well. The leave and its stem aren’t as dark as her other one. Cut off or just paranoid?
My work has this aloe plant. I have taken it upon myself to repot it this weekend. I have an indoor potting mix and will some extra perlite in it. Would that be okay for this plant? Does it need a bigger pot?
Pink Princess advice please. Yesterday I received a pink princess that was apparently just slowly getting worse. I had a look and there was no roots and the tip on its bases (and what were roots) was just a smelly brown mush. I have cut the bottom off with space to a node and drastically dropped its pot size down. I have also sealed where the cut was made and added a touch of water with half fertiliser to it. I believe she was potted in pumice which was drenched so trying to give her a break from excess water. Is there anything else I can do to help her or just wait and see if she starts to recover?
Should I be concerned??? I repotted my Strelitzia a few weeks ago due to root rot and he’s shown signs of surviving and appears rather healthy. However, I’ve started to notice some white residue building around the sticks I placed in. I’ve lifted them up and away from the soil for now but is this a sign root rot is returning? The soil does feel moist about 2 inches below the surface…
