My white bird of Paradise is getting brown at the tips. What should I do?
Look at this poor guy. We have a "take one leave one" plant table in town and someone just left this out there, in the fall in New England. Brrr. Of course I had to rescue it. Repotted it and now it's living under a grow light in my extra shower. Hope it makes it.
This girly and I have a love hate relationship. She’s forever putting out new leaves yet the older ones turn yellow, with brown spots, and no longer have the will to live. She used to be a bigger plant with larger leaves but this is her now. Was in a north facing window for years and did well. Hayes the north facing window in this house. Recently moved to an east facing window. Watered when dry. Liquid fertilizer when needed. Misted regularly. Leaves cleaned when needed. Old pic from 2020 for context and old pic from 2022/2023. She hasn’t looked like this in a while. 😢
My basil was doing so well. But look at her now. 😢 What did I do wrong? I used her leaves. They grew back. I pinched the flowers. Watered as regularly as I could (3-4x a week). And now she’s tall and scraggly.
I think I unalived my rosemary plant 😭 I saved the dried leaves to use for dried herbs. Pruned it hoping it would regrow. But it’s been a while and nothing.
I noticed these spots today. My plant normally has browning tips, but the browning on the sides is new and worrisome. The soil is totally dry the pot has drainage. Any ideas what is going on? I was working with tomatoes that had blight, tomato spotted wilt virus, verticilium, bacterial leaf spot, and more yesterday at work. Could i have somehow gotten my plant sick in less than 1 day?
I have a Jubilee Blueberry that I have been trying to help all summer. I am in Oklahoma and its been a very dry and hot summer. Last week I checked on it and everything above the soil was brown and dead. The roots seemed okay so I went ahead and went for the big chop and cut away everything above the soil. I have the pot it is in now under a gazebo and gets little light because I saw I should keep it in "forest conditions" and minimize watering to help it bounce back. Here is what I have for the plant: -In a wide pot, plastic. I drilled 4 drain holes into the bottom. Should I put it on a small platform? It was just placed on grass before. - pH, I know its a big delay for blueberries. I have added an acidic fertilizer many times, but I havent tested the soil before. -watering, I had placed mulch on the top of the soil and would check it every few days to see how wet the soil underneath was. It didnt dry out often, so maybe my drainage wasnt good enough? Open to any suggestions of what I more I can do to bring this fella back from the brink of death. Or any errors I have made. Thanks!
Friend of mines plants have this in the soil- she admits to overwatering. It looks like spring tails to me? Anybody have any thoughts or recommendations?
Can someone tell me what is happening with this rose bush, it has been fine for 2 years and about 2 weeks ago this started happening. I feed them, and treat them for diseases and bugs with seven dust regularly
Does anyone know what insect is this? Thanks!!
I recently had to repot this amazing 9-year-old Burgundy Rubber Plant that I bought a couple of years ago. . Many of the roots were showing at the top and the plant was leaning terribly. The plant was thriving in the spot otherwise. I repotted in a pot that is a little bit bigger. Ever since, I have lost several leaves. They turn yellow and die. What do you recommend?
Watering as directed (checking top soil dry) 3rd time using bottled water after I found out tap is bad (Kirkland bottled water) Gets lots of sun (I brought outside to check roots. Usually in front of a window or under my grow light) Roots are short(?) and not mushy Tips are browning and dry but not crispy Did I kill it? 😭 She died… rip 🪦
A neighbor “gifted” me these plants. One is a ponytail palm. The other MAY be some kind of orchid. My plan is to plant the ponytail palm in a much larger container because I think that’s part of the issue but if there’s any other advice on how to bring this thing back to life any and all suggestions are welcome. If the other plant is in fact, some sort of orchid, I’ll also repot that with orchid, bark and parallel, and just a bit of soil… If someone has a better idea as to what this plant might be again, any ideas are welcome.
Can someone please help me. My Jamaican Sorrel Hibiscus was doing just fine a few days ago and then it started wilting. Any ideas on why or how to fix it? Thanks in advance!!
Ok is this normal or do I have a dying plant? Today was my fertilize day for my air plant. I just dried it off and pieces started literally falling off! HELP!
Are these mottles on my monstera damage from pests (possibly thrips) or variegations? The mottles are only on one of the leaves, but I’ve wiped the plant down and louped every surface without finding any pests. I got this plant second hand so i don’t know its history, which is why I’m curious. The rest of the plant looks healthy and it’s growing!
Just found thrips on two of my houseplants and I’m devastated. Isolated them from the others immediately (I think the others seem okay), but I’m at a loss. I know this is super hard to treat. Are the plants done for?
I got this as a plug and put it in chin key soil mix, it’s been droopy ever since … should I be worried? Help 🥺
I have never seen anything like this before. I was doing a flush on my Monstera. Watching and waiting for the water to subside, all of a sudden, I saw these little worm creatures crawling up the side of the planter. I have tried to identify them with a bug app and got seven or eight different answers. Google is no help. I was wondering if any of you had come across these things before.
