Iâm in fungus gnat hell - so frustrated and about ready to cry or toss out my plants or both!
I have a collection of about 50 plants - about which 13 have an ongoing infestation of various severities since the past 2 months.
Every plants has a sticky stix and I check them daily to do a âtrapâ count.
I have tried combinations of quarantines, top and bottom watering with BTi tea (have used for about 4-5 weeks now), hydrogen peroxide flushes, repotting, diamateous earth, cinnamon, closing up the bottom holes with coffee filters and elastics, apple cider vinegar traps, and drying out the plants as much as I can before theyâre sad.
I donât see a big reduction in gnats; theyâre still around when I poke at the soil. I looked at one of the peace lilies that I did a hydrogen peroxide flush on LAST NIGHT and now there are at least 4 new gnats caught in the sticky stix trap.
***Do both BTi and a hydrogen peroxide flush render the soil inhospitable for as long as the soil is wet or do the effects wear off the next day? I donât understand why there are new gnats on this plant. Am I causing a problem because now I have a really nice moist plant available to the gnats again?
***How long does it take to eradicate this pest using BTi tea??
Is there any hope for me?

I got my Alocasia (Dracula) about three days ago and Iâm starting to notice that the flowers that are supposed to be blooming are starting to burn. Today was the first day I put her into a sunny spot in my living room. She only got about three hours of sun, because I didnât want to overwhelm her. And now thereâs a scab on her leaf.
Also, Iâve heard a lot about cutting off the flowers , is that something you think I should do. This is also my first time having a plant like this.

Help! I have this oyster plant that has been steadily losing the lower leaves. Theyâve been turning brown at the tips and then sort of wilting inwards. Iâve pruned it, repotted it, and it lives in a room that maintains 60 to 70% humidity.

Ok so, I've this this Hoya for a bit and she's been repotted a couple times. Not too long ago, she had one new leaf come in (the very top one). The leaves closer to the top feel alive (if that makes sense) and have spots. Meanwhile, the lower leaves feel thin and kinda papery. Why? And what should I do? Also, ignore the dust- I need to give my plants a dusting- I just keep putting it off...

Mealy bugs â whatâs the effective way to destroy and prevent besides a flamethrower? Iâve lost several legacy pothos plants to those buggers and nothing seems to work⌠Iâve tried neem oil, rubbing alcohol / water mixture, spraying with water and repotting up to three times and isolating in different parts of the house. They always come back with a vengeance!
Sincerely,
At my wits end

Hi all. I desperately want to save this jade plant - what is the best way of doing it?
Do I have to take each branch and then put it in water to get new roots or can anyone tell me if I can cut above the (smelly) brown roots on the main trunk and then put in water ? Iâd love to keep it whole if possible
Any advice is grateful received đ

I need some help diagnosing whatâs happening to my angel plants leaves. Thereâs these sort of burn marks that keep growing and spreading across the leaves. My guess is something to do with watering? I water this plant about once a week but I usually just look for signs of wilting for when to water it. The plant is being kept inside a plastic pot with drainage inside of a decorative pot without drainage. The plant gets minimal direct sunlight each day - probably less than 1 hour max if itâs sunny out. Otherwise it has bright indirect sun for most of the day. Any help is appreciated!
