I picked up this neem oil spray at my local plant store. So far I really like it! Has anybody used it before? Any thoughts on it and neem oil in general?

Has anyone used We the Wild, Mother Co, or Arber fertilizers? Any thoughts? Also how soon after getting a new plant should you start fertilizing? Sorry, i’m relatively new to keeping plants alive, but trying to get better! *For reference, I have an alocasia, fern, and snake plant!

Finally got my Rhipsalis a grow light. I wanted one that’s a bit more aesthetic than my other ordinary lights so I’m testing out the Sunlite. I hope it’ll give my Rhipsalis some well deserved extra energy.

I’m looking to get some individual style led grow lights to help my plants overwinter successfully. Any brands/sources that you have been disappointed by that I should avoid? I’m worried about quality control- are they really a decent growlight or just a light? TIA!

Regarding another post (by Anya, who I am mentally tagging), here are some materials. These boxes contain many bags of soil materials, pots, old lights, parts of IKEA furniture, and toy or glass bead that makes it into a pot, all the things I used to boost plants a couple inches closer to the sun. I also have a box of pots in my car 😭 This is the organization of a person who still might not know the ID of some of his plants but wakes up early to remove a top level of vermiculite to replace it with pumice - because he has been thinking about it all week. Fast and messy.

I didn’t anticipate how many books I own and decided to roll with the IKEA themed room full of furniture acquired over fifteen years. I keep saying to myself, “No. New. Sites,” but convinced myself these are low stress micro sites in this Cosmos. The three sets of LED panels are three chargers, but a timer makes that easy. The $3 underground wood square has wheels and will be awesome one day for a big plant. $3 at Goodwill. The round piece keeping the ponytail palm from sliding off was part of a cast iron Dutch oven. There was no price tag, so the clerk rang it up for 50 cents.

I’m curious about greenhouses indoors or in window. Anyone have any recommendations on small ones that are easily built minimum extra setup and can roughly fit about 10 or so plants? I’ve been trying to figure out a place I can have my plants and have control over their environment, as I’m heat sensitive so can’t exactly not have my ac which causes some issues according to some sources, and due to the positioning of my home I don’t have any truly sunny rooms so ideally I’d want to create a spot where I can have my plants and be able to meet their requirements. I’m not interested on making them go crazy, I just like keeping plants and wanna keep them healthy. So would investing in a small greenhouse, cabinet or something or would just a grow light be sufficient enough. My room averages a temp of 64-75 and roughly 54-72 humidity. I get south light in one window but it’s not direct cus other houses are like 10ft away and we have loads of trees so. Any suggestions on what I can do to keep everything happy? Everything I’m interested in keeping in a enclosed environment is under my bedroom tab. I only cataloged what plants are in the house because cus ocd lol.

Late night decision after remembering my old circa 2001 rack I’ve hauled around and used to hold heavy music and computer equipment (remember when a nice 21” monitor weighed fifty pounds?) I am not in love with it, as it’s functional and odd but not organic or weird enough to look like it all fell over there fully formed. You can see me working through “this is too tall and makes my eyes twitch” moments with the night photo ha ha. Note that I still need to grab one more thing from my old place. Does anyone have office plants? If you do, what kind, and please share a photo! I was thinking of bringing in a couple of plants for my cubicle, and setting up a grow light or two on a timer, so they have proper light each day (I’m in the office two days a week).

The casual DIY plant station began two years ago with 2 IKEA Omar metal racks. As the collection increased, I experimented with four different types of panel lights (see image) before ripping out the cages in favor of a more professional light. Note that window sun at my previous place is only useful October through March. The south window actually gives off the least light in Summer 😫 I was in the process of getting something more industrial and tough, but Omar still serves well as a modular machine, and it’s something I can tear down in 2 minutes. Walk two aisles over to desk supplies and grab some of those cups and mini bungee, and you’re set. The burned out LED bulb pic is included to say look into how to convert a regular lamp to accept an LED bulb before trying to throw that type of bulb into your desk lamp.

Clay pebbles: yay or nay? I added soil topper to most of the plants I repotted this year (either gravel or mulch). It definitely causes water retention, which throws off the Planta watering schedule. But Amazon threw some pretty multicolor clay pebbles on my homepage, and I thought they’d be neat for succulents. Have you used them as a topper or a substrate, and if so, do you recommend them?

What’s a good recommended fertilizer/ratio for succulents and cacti? Better yet, tell me your favorite go-to! I’ve seen so many mixed reviews and suggestions. I know houseplants are recommended 20-20-20, but it varies on what I’ve seen for cacti and succulents.
