This is my first monstera and I’m wondering if it’s ok if it grows like this, hanging down? I saw a few comments about moss poles, should I get that to support the plant? Thank you!

Hello friends! I am new to having and caring for a monstera, so I have a quick question. The first new few leaves started growing and they look great, except for one that grew with these marks on it. I would assume that if it was being over/under watered or it was getting too much sun (it’s in a partially sunny spot outside in the humidity of New England summers) it would show up like that on a leaf that has been there for a while. Is this the process or forming the holes in the leaf? Please let me know! (The close-up photo shows the weird markings. Also included are photos of the rest of the plant to show you the overall health!)

I noticed that my monstera started getting yellow leaves. I’ve got it in a tropical mix of one part potting soil, one part orchid bark, one part perlite, and a bit of charcoal and mosquito bits. The soil is dry in the top two inches and isn’t wet in the bottom. I’m thinking it’s a lighting issue. It’s in a room with north facing windows on one side and west facing in the other side. I can’t put it in a sunnier location. Do you think this grow light is adequate or should I do something more?

I don’t expect this leaf to have a long life since she’s almost pure white, so I had to start with getting a pic of her! 🤩

New Plant 4 Me!

Looking for subject matter expertise. I have a new Monstera that looks pretty healthy (I don’t know for sure). I plan on keeping him in the living room after repotting. This is the lighting that my buddy will receive primarily (see pictures). Does he need more light? With the stems being as long as they are, is there a way to keep them from dropping?

Hello, I have propagated my mama monstera but, it has been over a month and it is not producing any roots but, it’s also not dying. Does anyone know why? I have it in enough water to cover the bottom half of the stem. Am I doing something wrong? Never had this issue with propagating other plants. Any advice would help. Thanks 🙂
