is it time for a moss pole? my pride and joy monstera named big cheese is starting to become very top heavy, and it seems to be growing multiple new leaves a week. i have a pole but itās too big for the current pot, and it hasnāt even been a full year since it was last repot yet. do i invest in a pole that fits in this pot, or wait until itās been long enough for a repot?
Will my thai con start to climb this coir pole? I took a bit too long to introduce the pole, but hoping it will start growing up now?
Did I do this right? Itās my first time. I couldnāt find the long strand moss so I ended up with 60% sphagnum peat moss, 20% perlite and 20% orchid bark.
Howdy plant people! This is my first monstera Iāve gotten from a clearance rack as part of an anniversary gift! Any tips? I havenāt touched him at all yet, just brought him home and am waiting for his soil to dry out a bit before giving him a chunkier mix! Iām a bit concerned his new leaf is already drooping so much. Iāve always been scared to get one because we live in Colorado and in a pretty dim house so any advice would be GREATLY appreciated, thanks :)
Hi all, I posted a while ago about my monstera clippings not shedding the brown sheath. I left it and yesterday 2 months later I decided to pull it off gently. This has actually revealed a growing stem that was trapped beneath it. When it first came out it had the black dead spike (pictured) but that fell off instantly and now it looks like this. What shall I do?
Meet Cassie, my first and only! š Went ALL IN on this beauty of a Thai Con about a month ago and just gave her her first bamboo pole to climb. Seems to like her new home so far š¤; potted in terracotta with Rosyās Aroid + some amendments. She just makes me happy and wanted to share the love š„¹ Hope youāre all having a very planty weekend! šŖ“
Pot is 1 ft wide, separating my 3 monstera deliciosa. Pay attention class! When you buy a monstera plant from a box store itās usually 3-5 separate plants in one pot. Separate them! This is what happens when you repot once at the 1 year mark but donāt separate⦠and then wait like another 4 years to actually address the issue and separate everyone. Do not let this be you! When I decided I was going to repot them this summer, each plant decide to push out a new leaf at different rates so I had to wait until everyone was finished⦠just to have my baby rip one of the new leaves š oh well. Iām trying to rehome some so hopefully they go somewhere good. The roots ended up being 4 ft long when I held it up. In separating I accidentally broke off 3 base nodes so now I guess I have 6 plants.
Sheās my first! I love her! Any tips?
New growth on my baby girl!
Has anyone bought a Albo from Etsy? Can you give me any tips and growth updates on your plants? Iād like to get one!
Who cares that I have a mature Thai, 2 tissue cultures acclimating, and 2 tc en route?? I obviously needed these 3 as well šš¤£ $18.99 at Costco! Run, donāt walk!!
First new leaf on my Thai Conš¤
I recently repotted my Monstera (about 4 days ago) and noticed the leaves curling in today. She was watered on the day of repotting as well. Moved her to the balcony this summer for more humidity/light but not sure what could be causing this. Also have some brown spots on a few of my leaves; prior fungal infestation? Nothing now and have been spraying topical neem oil solution. Any tips?
I split up the monstera I had into four because I read that they prefer to fly solo. From the four in one big pot, each one went into to a smaller clear nursery pot. Two each have their own window and the other two are under a grow light. All of them have sprouted a new leaf and also have aerial roots that are growing out. These seem like good signs but I thought theyād be devoting energy to their repotted root system. Anyone have any thoughts, insights, or care tips to share?
Hey! Yall remember my dying Thai I rescued from Walmart that got sunburnt and was extremely sad?! Guess who is pushing a new leaf!!! ššš¼šŖ“
4 days of growth and looking like itāll be one of my biggest leaves!!
Say hello to Alex!
Hi friends I have some questions because I donāt want to mess up with my monstera. I have had this baby for about 3yrs. I bought it when my previous Monstera died on me. So the reason my previous Monstera died, she needed to be repotted. I follow all the instructions and she did not thrive at all. Now, Iām a little bit skeptical because before I did that with my previous Monstera, she was fine. She was thriving and it was time to repot her and I messed up. All to say, I am coming to all my Monstera maniacs because this is my dream plant and I donāt want to kill her. I had had her for three years she came in this self watering pot, which I found it ideal for her and maybe this is a reason why she has thrive for so long. Now, no offense but I need my monster pros. The ones that knows what theyāre doing. Please respond This is a 911 Monstera call lol š
Meet Jewles, my Albino Monstara. I have wanted her for a very long time and ideally I want to grow her leafs very big on a moss poll. I am wondering if you could hand down your tips on keeping her healthy, growing big leafs, and all the things! Pest control? Ideal lighting? Pebble try? Spray her? What lighting would you recommend? Moss pole or homemade moss pole? Plant food? What do peoepl give plants to keep the white? Tell me everything! I am still learning but love ā¤ļø it! I would love to learn from all of you!
