I’m about to toss this expensive monstera. It’s the most maddening plant I have ever owned. The price tag did not help. I got it from a reputable online nursery and everything else I’ve ordered in the past has been excellent. I think it’s the genetics of this cultivar. I have had it for almost 1.5 years and this is all it’s done—barely grown and just turn the limey parts papery brown. Grow a new leaf, then turn brown for no f reason. And it’s starting again on the newest leaf. It’s not water, it’s not fertilizer, it’s not light… what am I doing wrong. I own a few monsteras including other variegated types but nothing has been like this. Any advice would be helpful.

Exciting day! We are turning over a new leaf…. Hah! This monstera was abandoned a few times (not by me) and i finally have her in my control. She was a mess of weight and weakness so she has a baby cage for now. But I have been rewarded with a new leaf. Gotta give her a fighting chance.

So…just saw this lil guy! Cause for concern? Herman is still in the Costa Farms soil he was in at Walmart. I plan on repotting soon.

Hey everyone! This is my first ever post. I'm writing because I have a concern... Where I live, there's no direct sunlight but we do get indirect sun. I had my monstera in the window sill but now that I have a grow light I want to keep it by my couch (about 6-8 feet away from window). I'm unsure if this is a bad decision. AI says it should be okay, even thrive and grow, using basically only the grow light. PLEASE let me know, I really do like my monstera. Monstera deets: Water propagated about a month or two ago. Transfered into pot like a month ago or so idk. Feels pretty rooted in, no budging. Slightly bent, it was a cutting from a massive plant at my mom's. (Photo taken at night so it's dark sorry!)

I mounted a lattice panel to my wall to support my big monstera, and this is the first big leaf I’ve gotten since. I can’t wait to watch it unfurl, there are so so so many holes.

Herman and I have been getting to know each other for about 2 weeks now! He seems happy, other than a bit of yellowing new growth at the soil level. He’s still in Walmart’s mix. What’s the best soil mix to transfer him to? He came in a wick system self watering pot…

Hi everyone! I recently joined this group and I’m thrilled to get your advice. My monstera is thriving. It has a baby plant and a larger one that’s currently supported. The roots are also growing quite long. I’d love to know your suggestions for supporting the larger plant and managing the long roots.
