How do I save my Boston fern?? This always seems to happen with this plant! Can I save it at this point? Need any help!! 😭😭

So I planted these plum trees this past spring therefore it's their 1st chilly season. Is anyone experienced with plum trees? Do you do anything special to get them thru the colder season? Any tips, ideas, knowledge, or advice is greatly appreciated, these are my babies 💚. This is a current picture of them, so far they seem fine, so just preparing myself. Thanks in advance!
