I am a brand new plant mom. We recently had to put our last of 5 kitties down, and I found out I’m allergic to cats and dogs. It was time to get real houseplants. Here are my starter babies. I’ve already killed off 2 of my herbs. 😢

I love plants

My spider plant has so many babies (or whatever they are)!!! I have counted at least 10!!! But I have one question: when should I remove the babies? Thank you so much in advance and I hope you have a wonderful day!!! And don’t forget to buy a plant!!!😉🩷🪴🌱 Sorry about the bad picture!

Anyone else have a staghorn? I just got her and I'm going through getting her into a bigger better home and I'm wondering if I should remove those like rotting shield fronds or is they are ACTUALLY shielding something? I'm assuming I should take them off so the rot doesn't spread. It's from being in a small pot and then sitting on top of that wet soil while being at the store, I think

Did something terrible today but it was fun. Bought more plants. I’ve decided to try a terrarium or two so I went out for plants. And couldn’t resist getting a few others. The prize is a Sansevieria Pinguicula. Also known as the Walking Sansevieria. They are pretty rare.

Found two philodendron pink princesses at Home Depot 🩷Gemini says the spotted one is a pink princess galaxy. Is that right?

First glance at the nursery: “🪴👀 what is that??” Second walk by: “I just want to figure out what it is. Anthurium? I don’t even like anthurium 😤.” Walking around Googling… “Hmm it’s not that easy to find. Maybe I should get it since I may never see it again. I can always prop it and sell it.” Driving her home: “Idk what it is about her but she reminds me of something I just like.” At home: “Omg I love her. Let me give her a place of honor and dote on her.” 🤣

My collection has came so far. I’ve learned so much in my plant parent journey. The most important lesson I’ve learned, was to enjoy the beauty in each moment. Have patience, growth happens at its own pace! ☮️💚✨🌱⭐️🪴😌

Plant Mommy (Sorta)

My pothos that was gifted to me by my grandmother as a child (so I have no idea how old it actually is, for all I know it could be older than me!) This plant survived years in a plastic water bottle before I knew how to properly care for it, no water changes, barely any sunlight, and a literal coating of dust on the leaves. Only in recent years have I actually started nursing her back to health. She has a fancy new glass vase (goodbye plastic bottle), has regrown healthy and strong roots, and has grown multiple new leaves! I even took her to uni with me this year! She may not look like much, but after everything she’s been through this is probably my most impressive plant. I love you my little pothos, I hope to be a better plant parent to you from now on, and here’s to hopefully many more years to come! :)

Just built a mini bonsai garden for my trees that I was keeping indoors, hoping they start to thrive outdoors :) Any tips would be much appreciated.
