Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! 1 snipped pad in 2021, from a near by neighbor’s hanging-into the-ally plant, has produced so many pads. And this year, the second year, I’m being thanked by that pad, and its descendants, with all these yellow, sun bursting, gorgeous flowers!

I cannot remember if I brought this with me in June 2009 or if it was already in the house when I moved in. Not many would have kept an old wooden, over the toilet with shelves, rack that they themselves hadn’t purchased, I.e. a left over. This old wooden bathroom rack has seen 17 years of holding everything from friends possessions, to roommate shelving items, and all in my back bedroom. I honestly thought everyone my age, and who went to school at the same time as I did, learned how wasteful previous generations were, and that everything should be reused. I guess that crying Native American in a canoe died a long time ago. Maybe that’s when Generation X, my generation, stopped caring about things, well except for money. When it came to money everyone believed the Ronald Regan lie. Consumerism (v): Action by a species to consume and never be full while creating species waste.

Not content with her big leaves, two strong stems and little propagation in her pot, Big Penny is growing tiny little leaves at her base! I can’t believe how much she’s grown in a few months with just a bit of TLC.

I just moved across country and hade to give all my plants away except one that was gifted to me. I packed and shipped as safely as possible. I received it today. I watered it. What else should I do? It only lost 1 leaf.

I had to share this! It's my new plant! A Cape Sundew (drosera capensis). It grows in wet moss and it's carnivorous. I'm so excited! I usually grow succulents and weird cactus. This will be a challenge.
