Hello all! Iām new here and relatively new to indoor plants. I used to have planted, aquascaped aquariums and have always enjoyed outdoor container gardening, thus ārelatively new.ā Wanted to share my two calatheas (rattlesnake and warcscewiczii)! Iām in CO, so humidifiers pepper my office, (eastern facing with a huge window). Iām finding topping with moss is helping with humidity and preventing drying out too quickly. Iāve got them in tropical houseplant soil (that has tiny amounts of lava rock) heavily amended with horticultural charcoal, perlite, orchid bark mix and leca to ensure good drainage. Hope all are enjoying their day!
my new calathea pink aurora ^.^
My favorite plant corners ā¤ļø any tips on what plants I should put in the empty white pots?
One of my new leaves on my rattlesnake came in... backwards? He is starting to tuck up for the afternoon here but during the day he bends over backwards to get some sun on the front of the leaf. Never seen it before but this guy is happy so I don't mess with him.
Iām finding these air roots on my maranta and Iām wondering why? I have three vines in the pot and I think the vine with this section is going bad. I already cut another section like this from the same and put it in water but now Iām thinking maybe I need to cut this one too. But since the pot is getting empty, should I put it on top and let it root in? Thanks š
Calathea corner! The deliciosa photobombed.
Grateful for this group that has truly helped me live my plant mom dreams. Although my White Star is still struggling with burned edges on the smaller leaves your tips and guidance have really helped! So here are my girls! Iāve had them for 12 weeks! Woohoo!
shhh sheās sleeping š“ š¤Ŗ i love these leaves ā theyāre like big feathers š¤©
Proud prayer plant mum here. I rescued her from a garden centre about 2 months ago in a sorry state and have brought her back to life. She just keeps producing flowers and leaves. My question is what do I do with the flower spikes when they finish producing. Do I leave them and she will produce more or do I need to pinch them off? Thanks for reading āŗļø
My plant is flowering!!!
Any cool names for plants?! Iām looking to naming my cactuses and my flowers! š©µšŖ·
Any idea why the leaves on my red maranta are still curled a week after watering . theres to plants in the pot and the other one is doing fine and putting out two new leaves.
When should a pot in soil? She has a lot of new leaves coming up but I wasnāt sure if she should have a more established root system. TIA!
The little flowers just keep on coming š
Havenāt named it yet, but Iām leaning on Rufibarbra. š¤£
Second post like this recently. Hereās one years time with my Makoyana. The leaf size increase has been insane.
These are my first ever prayer plants. Both I propagated from cuttings before planting. (The damage to one of the never never plantās leaves was there when I got the cutting) The never never plant needed help standing up when I first planted it but now itās doing ok. The other one seemed to stand ok when I planted it but now isnāt. They are in the exact same place, but one is constantly folded and the other never is. The red maranta is pushing out a new leaf just fine, but Iām still worried because Iām not sure if this is normal? They have to close sometimes or itās not good for them, right? I tried putting the red maranta in a dark place for 24 hours to see if it would close and it didnāt, so I put it back. It also doesnāt lift the leaves up at night the way I read they are supposed to. Feedback? Thoughts?
Hi all my Warscewiczii is in trouble. I donāt see any insects š and Iām seeing yellowing and a new leaf is coming in crispy. I have is in shade to partial sunlight because the consensus seems to be they donāt like a lot of light even though Planta says otherwise. I use Planta a a guide to water trying to keep her moist but not wet. Does this look like overwatering or underwatering? Any tips? The only change Iāve mad in the last month is using water conditioner in my watering vessel along with superthrive and mosquito dunks. Thanks!
