I saw that TheGreenEscape on Etsy had Dark Phoenix x Magnificum hybrid starters listed so I had to get one! It’s just a little baby so I put it in some perlite and sphagnum moss for now. It’s working on a new leaf too! I’m really excited about this one!

First inflorescence!! This is on my forgetii X besseae aff, gorgeous plant with a closed sinus, I plan to freeze the pollen to see if I can pollinate another anthurium

lol! I repotted Mayve maybe 1 month ago and she already wants out! She even pushed through a paper towel layer (I’m not gonna repot)

My anthurium has put out 3 new leaves in the last month and I’m excited to repot it this weekend! What other big leaf anthuriums should I look into getting? Not a huge fan of ones that flower regularly FYI.

New emergent is growing on my Besseae Aff x Forgetii and I just got this Crystallinum x Magnificum in the mail today! I also got a King of Spades x Dressleri with it but it looks so sad, I’m not sure it’s going to survive. So I don’t want to share that one. 😂 It’s funny because I used to really dislike anthuriums because I thought they all looked too much alike but now I’ve seen the light and I’m obsessed. So much so I got rid of some of my philodendron, syngonium, and calathea to make room for all the seedlings I’ve received lately. 🫣 I really want a Dark Phoenix but they’re expensive. One day I’ll get one, maybe for my birthday in November I’ll be able to find a little seedling or get a hybrid.

Hello my fellow “spending my pay check on extremely expensive anthurium” people, what’s ur most expensive/fav anthurium right now? It’s a competition but as of now I think it’s gonna be my anthurium “dark phoenix” spend 200 on this bad boy, puts out a beautiful big leaf every month :>

Anyone have any thoughts/opinions/techniques on best growing mediums and repotting for anthuriums? I’ve had this one in the nursery pot for a while because I was researching, but life got busy and I kinda forgot about her lol. it’s grown so much and has roots circling and coming out of the bottom, so I think it’s finally repot o’clock! Drop any advice below, I’m an experienced plant mom, but an anthurium newbie 🙃
