Is this what I think it is??? Is my baby finally starting to grow a spike?? I just want to confirm before I start celebrating too early!

Second blooming for this lovely orchid. Last year it only had 2 blooms, this year I got 4. She’s thirsty and sort of sprawling in her growth pattern, so she’ll need a repot shortly.

We’re almost at full bloom!

Help! What is this? I found two of these places at the bottom of my baby that almost look like something is eating it. Then I’m seeing black spots on the leaves that look like burn marks.

I’ve had this orchid since last march. After it bloomed I trimmed down the stem. I noticed what I thought was a Kiki about a month ago. Today I saw this flower. Is this weird? Is it a true Kiki? None of my other “Kiki’s have any roots just like this one. Can anyone tell me what is going on?? Thanks!!

I’m trying not to have to buy a special fertilizer for every freaking houseplant I own. So I have two: a 5-1-1 fish emulsion fertilizer and a 0.5-1-0.5 African violet fertilizer. For the orchids, I kind of alternate between them, and dilute them both quite a bit. Any thoughts on this regime?

What is this? This is my orchid plant. It’s not had a stalk in over 2 years. I’m not certain if this is one growing or just a root growing in a weird place. I changed up how I was fertilizing her so I’m wondering if maybe it’s working? She’s been in a kokodama for about 3 months now.

I just got a Tolumnia Orchid Hybrid on clearance for $20 it was originally marked for $40 I heard that their flowers are beautiful! I put them into water and am hoping for the best!

Anyone have tips on watering? I've experimented a lot with phals, first finding out how easy it is to over water and rot the roots. So I decided to water once a week as that seemed to be when the bark would finally dry out all the way, but the leaves just wouldn't perk up all the way, which told me they were probably dehydrated. So then I tried bare roots, Hanging them up and heavily misting the roots twice a day, or when they turned silver. About 6 months of bare roots and they started growing some new leaves, even got a spike that didn't bloom, but the old leaves were still a bit shriveled/wrinkled, and the new leaves didn't grow much and weren't very firm. So, I put them back in bark, hoping it might hydrate them better, but I'm terrified of root rot lol. I now water them once a week, giving each one a 5-10 minute soak before putting it back on the rack and repeating a week later. They are potted in a clear plastic pot covered in holes for ventilation. Throughout this entire process, they've had consistent lighting and been fertilized 1-2 times a month, and never get water in the crown. I'm wondering if adding sphagnum moss might be a good idea to get it more hydrated without rotting the roots or jump starting that white mold stuff. Okay thats about it, all tips and ideas are welcome if anyone manages to read all of this! Pics attached were taken right before watering, this is as dry as they get.

Hello All, My mother just received these orchid x2 from her caregiver team yesterday. While the moss is wet, there are several roots on top of the large plant that are rotted. There are nice green roots as well. The small orchid has been jammed into the pot and also appears to have some good roots. How should I approach this? TIA.

Hi all! I got this mini-phal about a year ago. It bloomed nonstop from January until maybe November and at that point I noticed the leaves were starting to droop and shrivel. So I cut off the flowers because I thought maybe they were killing the plant, and for the last maybe six weeks I’ve been trying to baby it, but I’m not really detecting any improvement. It still looks sad. Additional details: - not overwatered (I think I might have underwatered previously)—it’s in a clear pot so I can make sure roots are silver before watering - potted in standard orchid mix with some coconut husk mixed in - it has its own grow light, since natural light is not the best in this location (a huge window that gets a fair amount of light but a northern exposure)

Isn’t she a beauty? It looks like she has a leaf growing on a flower stalk - is that a thing? Will it become a keiki? Never had this before but I’m so excited to have some thriving orchids!
