Hello, wondering how I should force my orchid stems to be straight up and closer together without causing damage? New plant mom and nervous about losing any (or all) of my babies.

Hi everyone! I’m new to orchids and I need help!!! My gma gave me this coconut orchid and I’m desperate to save it!! My gma had her sitting in a jar of water for a while before she gave it to me. Ngl it looked pretty bad in the water. She’s now repotted. In chunky orchid soil mix with orchid moss but idk what to do with her. 2 yellow leaves fell this morning and I noticed that brown thing. ( this is my favorite kind of orchid from the best gma I could ask for and I reallllly want this plant to live. Any tips would be so welcome and appreciated!!) (side note has anyone else ever smelled the flowers of the coconut orchid? Is that not one of the most beautiful smells you’ve ever smelt? ❤️)

hi!! i just noticed this ginormous black spot on my phalaenopsis. it was smaller a couple of weeks ago ago, this was a rescue from a big box store less than a year ago and she has been consistently flowering. i noticed her leaves looked droopy/flaccid so i gave her a really long soak early this week by placing up in a bowl of water. i try to bottom water her whenever i notice silver roots. i wasn't as careful about not getting water on her leaves, but i have been lately. should i cut off the entire leaf? what can i do to prevent this in the future? why does this happen? also, her second flower spike browned and died 4ish months ago, so i cut it back. i usually only cut until i reach a closed node on the flower spike. i was wondering how i could get her to put out another flower spike. also, how can i get her blooms to open closer to each other? her first bloom usually dies off by the time the second one open and so on. how can i get more leaves? can anyone recommend a good but affordable fertilizer/food? potting mix: lots of perlite, orchid bark, charcoal, leca

I’m obsessed with my orchid. It was a gift from Trader Joe’s. It lost the blooms and shoots quickly. I placed her in a “too sunny” window and she loves it. 😊

Unknown variety of a stunningly large yellow Paphiopedilum. Another new acquisition. I’ll be doing some research to try and determine this particular hybrid. Open to suggestions if anyone is familiar with these guys. Leaves are not mottled, they are more like phragmipediums that I am familiar with.

Hello everyone! I had a quick question, I bought this cattleya orchid a few weeks ago and was wondering if I should repot, thanks!

Went to the grocery store and spotted this Phal with a petal instead of the “cup” they normally have in the center (of course I had to seize the opportunity and bring it home). I’ve never seen this before, has anyone else?

hiiii, i’m a newer plant owner and i just got this gorgeous orchid plant as a gift. what should i know with raising this beauty? i noticed the pot it’s in does not have drainage holes, will that be an issue? should i repot? please tell me everything i need to know so i can help this plant thrive 💞

Oooo, my Phal shelf is bursting 😁

I posted back in January that my little orchid had a little orchid growing. I asked when to clip and repot. I was advised to wait until there were three leaves, three roots and they were three inches long. I think it is time. And now, how can I go about of maneuvering the roots so they won’t snap or break? Many thanks in advance!

Ever since I got this dendrobium Blue Siam (last summer I think) a leaf, or even a couple, will do this now and again. I think it’s natural because it doesn’t spread and it seems to be growing just fine otherwise, but it freaks me out and makes me wonder if it’s not happy. That leaf is the only leaf on an old cane, so pretty sure it’s NBD, but a little reassurance would make me happy!

Just started my orchid journey! (Got her for $10 on clearance at Lowe’s!!) & honestly I’m already addicted! Wanted to introduce ourselves & see if anyone has tips on how to keep this beauty ALIVE!! 🤍

Hi plant friends! I’m wondering what to do about this orchid. It didn’t feel sturdy sitting in orchid bark, and I accidentally knocked it over. Now that I see the roots they look black and dead. But you can see a new leaf growing. Do I cut off the roots? But then I feel like I’ll have no roots and how will the plant continue to grow? Or are the roots not dead which is why the plant continues to grow new leaves? Should I soak in a hydrogen peroxide solution and see what the roots really look like? Any help and advise would be appreciated🤗

I read that jewel orchid pairs really well with fittonia, so im excited to say thats my next project.

I think my orchid is coming to end of life cycle since many of my blooms are dying..what should I do with it once all blooms are gone

This plant was a gift. It came in a pot with another orchis and there were no drainage holes. I knew immediately I would need to save these plants. The root rot was so bad the I lost the other orchis and have had to cut the roots back 3 times on this one. I’ve had it since Thanksgiving and am hoping this “humid tank” helps. Anyone had success with this method? It was sooooo pretty before with 2 spikes and big flowers.
