Hi! Nice to be here! I just got 2 Calathea plants. They are my first of this species. They appear to be Calathea Medallion Roseopicta by what I found but I can’t find that exact species in the list so they are listed here as Calathea Medallion. They have a gorgeous leaf pattern with crimson underbellies. The first one is Nathaniel. He’s a memorial plant. The second has more delicate markings, I’m naming her Sheena (apparently). I think she has a new leaf emerging. They were very damp when I got them so I’m trying to figure out where to place them and let them dry out. I’m going to wait at least 3 months to repot them.

We had a horribly scary storm early this morning (4 am) and I woke up to half of my Dahlia plant snapped in half, among other chaos. I love this plant! Can I save it? What do I do?

"For decoration only, do not consume" seems like a careless way of describing the toxicity of this Calla Lily. And don't get me started on plants that lack labels altogether (hence the many "what is this plant I just bought?" posts in the plant identification group). 🤦🏻♂️ How the heck is the layperson supposed to stay well-informed about plant safety? Esp if they have little kids or pets? Does this grind anyone else's gears or is it just me?
