Hello! Looking to repot an orchid and pothos, they’re both in bark so I’m wondering what everyone’s preferred bark is/ successful replanting methods they’ve used for orchids! Thank you!

Propagated these lime tree cuttings in July and transplanted in September after seeing some roots. Was starting to wonder if they were gonna survive but finally starting to see some new growth!

This plant is from my mom's house and she wants to propagate it. I don't know if you can propagate this type though, and I wouldn't know how to go about it. Any tips on propagation?

My jade prop isn’t rooting - any suggestions? I snipped it from my jade plant two weeks ago, dipped it in rooting hormone and placed outside at first, where the Phoenix sun was drying it out rapidly. It’s inside now but still no sign of root development. I’m worried about it drying up. Tips appreciated!

I am brand new to houseplants and all things green (so of course I have immediately jumped in at the deep end and now have 12 houseplants, somehow?!) This was my Grandma’s jade plant that started my journey. I realised that she had root rot from my overwatering (sorry friend) and in an effort to save her I took cuttings and have planted these in soil as YouTube said that this was the best method. After about a month, they’re now starting to grow roots- but out of the wrong nodes?! I have no idea if there are already roots in the soil, but the cuttings are also growing roots out of the soil and I have no idea what to do now. If anyone can advise I’d be grateful!

This may be a dumb question but I’ve never propagated anything from stems it’s always had some leaves on it. Once these have plenty of root and I place them in soil do I place them laying down the way they are in here or do I “stand them up”? I have some roots now but I want to make sure they have a stable root system before I transfer them.

For anyone tempted to get a Bonnie Curly, be aware. When it comes time for repotting it’s just short of a nightmare. It’s so curly and dense it’s almost impossible to see what you are doing so you don’t cover the leaf base where the plant should not be covered. I swear it took me a good twenty minutes to switch soil out.

Has anyone had any luck propagating haworthia cooperi? Mine keeps making pups but they keep withering and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Has anyone had success propagating coffee plants? I am trying the same cutting for the third time now. 🤦‍♀️ I pulled off all except the top leaves, dipped the cutting in a little cinnamon, and stuck it in a four inch pot, which is the size it says to use online (not sure if i should have tho, since the soil pretty much never dried out). I watered it, misted it well, and put a plastic bag over it and stuck it under my grow light. Whenever I saw that all the condensation inside the bag was gone, I misted again. As long as I kept the bag on it, it stayed perky and even grew two new leaves, but if I took the bag off for any length of time it wilted. I kept it like that for several months and there was no root growth whatsoever. What am I doing wrong?

My first foray into soil propagation. I let the Jade callus for 72 hours, the Christmas Cactus 24 hours. Soil is succulent mix with coco peat, perlite, charcoal, a bit of Mother Earth Groundswell. I misted before placing cuttings. Knock on wood this works!

I grew these monstera seedlings from seeds in the spring, and these little guys have been growing strong all summer long, and some are nearly 12 inches tall! I’m not quite sure what to do with these pups yet, but they seem to be thriving in the mean time. 😁

So, I made my first successful props ever. I’m really new to plants in general let alone propagation, so I came in over-prepared. Read online somewhere that roots formed in soil tend to be a bit sturdier and obviously having them in the soil already prevents the shock of going from water to soil. So, I got some clear containers with drainage. Put about an inch of pea gravel in the bottom, a layer of premium potting soil in the middle, and started giving that bushy baby a haircut. Used hormone powder and cut some of them too far below the node so had to go fix my mistake and those plants are off to the side now. Topped with a very thin layer of pea gravel to discourage gnats, be pretty, and help support the props a little better while they rooted. I ended up with two medium sized plants, and 12 reasonably happy propagations. That was September 18. It’s been about 3 weeks since then. About a week and a half ago, we had a huge cloudburst storm out of nowhere which resulted in the death of one vase and the near catastrophic loss of a polka dot plant and one of the medium pots that was sitting a little too close to the edge… so that resulted in about a dozen more propagations that are now rooting in a common container before I transfer them to their winter pots to give as gifts or swap. Total cost: $13 for one rootbound postseason purple spiderwort plant $~8 for premium potting soil $10 foe pea gravel $3 and some elbow grease for the containers, So for $34 and some sweat and tears I ended up with a medium sized mother plant and 24 babies. They’ve been so forgiving of my newbie shenanigans. Highly recommend using clear containers if you’re using the soil propagation method because it makes monitoring moisture effortless. If you’re scared to try propagating, established plants from end of season sales are a great place to start to learn. I was so scared of failing and now I have them coming out my ears! Even those of you with a brown thumb… you can do this! Next on the list: seeding some succulents, and if that’s successful maybe some coleus? Other suggestions for easy propagation plants/seeds?

These are Alocasia Ninja & Alocasia Melo corns and pups that were from plants that I recently got. I am new to propagating, but have done a bit of research. Should I use water only, perlite, or moss? Which is better?

I’ve been propagating some philodendrons and the roots are coming out! Is now a good time to pot them or should I wait longer?? What’s the goal root length/system? Thank you!

I had to cut up my philodendron mayoi today because she wasn't doing so hot 😩 I have the main plant in water and the 2 babies reported in soil. Am I able to regrow the pplant from these stem cuttings? Or should I just throw it away?
