I’m looking for any advice one might give me for how to care for newly potted propagations. I had some cuttings from my Ficus Daniella plant in some water and two of them grew rather long roots! The two that took I have no potted in some soil with some perlite for extra drainage. But I hear that it can be hard for propagated cuttings to adapt to soil after rooting in water. So any advice one this subject is very much appreciated. I’m also attempting other propagations of tree branches from my local park.

So I did a thing today. I wasn’t liking how leggy my codiaeum varigatum croton was looking. So I chopped it 😬✂️ Hoping it grows back bushier. I also was able to make 2 extra cuttings out of it so hopefully I’ll get 2 extra plants out of this. Had anxiety doing it, but here we are! What do you think?

Hello! Has anyone here ever tried growing a monstera horizontally along soil? I’m just curious what that could look like lol I may try it with a small section. (old pic of my buddy)

What’s the best way i can propagate my baby toes when it’s all on one stem? I’ve seen people propagate these with the “root clusters” but since I only have the “one root” or stem that it’s on is there a best approach? I’m scared i’m going to hurt my plant baby if i just cut it from the stem. Help! lol thanks!

Pink Princess Philodendron prop help! This is my plan, please tell me if it’s going to work or how I need to change it before I make cuts! I’m going to cut at the bottom circle, I’ll snip the leaf off at the second line, and the rest will sit in a glass of water up to the top line. Will that propagate well? And, importantly, will my original plant regrow where I cut it and how long will that take! All help welcome, thanks!

Hi, I was told from a friend that I can create new babies from my echeveria. This is where we’re at, I don’t know what the next step is from here. How long do I let the roots get before planting? Also when I do plant, am I planting the whole thing in soil or leaving the mother leaf above soil?

Looking for some sort of little hooks to hold my string of pearls and other string plants into soil while they root… something that won’t rust ?

Hi friends! I have a big beautiful fiddle leaf fig that I need to take a cutting from the top so it doesn’t get too tall and skinny. I did this on one of two branches at the top and the parent plant is fine. But the clipping died quickly. I followed online advice on where to cut but I’m afraid to chop chop without figuring out where I went wrong. Any advice is appreciated!

Does anyone have experience growing cactus from seed? I live in the north of England and sowed my cacti in seed sowing compost about 3 weeks ago, leaving them on a bright windowsill with plenty of drainage. I gave them a large drink then, and another today (3 weeks later) but I’m yet to see any signs of life! Do you think my windowsill is too dark/cold? Should I have used houseplant soil? Should I have watered them more than once every 3 weeks? Should I start again? Thanks guys!!

When the owner of the restaurant noticed me admiring their giant Polka Dot Begonia & offered me a cutting… He stated it’s been in family for over 100 years!!!! (I didn’t get a photo of the parent Polka Dot- I was so excited that he offered me a cutting!!!) Thank you for any advice 🍃🤗💚🪴

I've never had success with aloe pups. This came out of my fan aloe. Is there anyway to put in soil and it survive?

Happy long weekend everyone! Here’s my propagation station. It is on my living room coffee table and I use it as my experiment lab… But I tell my husband it is decoration lol 🤣 EDIT: the small little globe in the bottom left corner is one of those little spheres that I bought on Amazon that contains a shrimp and its own little ecosystem. I’ve had it for over 10 years now as it was my tiny little pet in college and I still have one shrimp in it all these years later!

Hello All, I did not have luck repotting a string of pearls and so I am trying to propagate. Can you please advise if I am doing this correctly? I have several leaves on top of soil and I am misting. (1) A few are showing growth but not all. It appears I pressed several into the soil and some are sitting on top. Those on top are growing - does the depth make a difference. (2) Also, I assume the soil cannot dry out and that may be the issue as well. (3) should I have put the leaves (?) in the center or spread out as I have done. TIA🙏
