Where do I clip tradescantia legs to grow roots? And how do I grow roots on clippings?
How do I prune and start rooting my bunny ear cactus?
A coworker of mine brought me a little baggie of leafs with roots and they are growing! Problem is, I have no idea what it is. Any help identifying this little propagation?
š±fiddle leaf fig propš± this is my first time ever propagating a fiddle leaf & i was STRESSEDt (iāve had this tree since 19/20, im 24 now so im very attached). sheās gotten rather leggy over the years due to beginners underwatering & several moves; iāve wanted to prop for a while so i started out w the smallest leg of the tree to assure success. in just over a week that little branch has sprouted ab 3-4 little leaves, the cuttings from this(3) have all rooted and budded. i cut another thinner branch providing another 3 cuttings that are in beginning stages of rooting. the cut branch still rooted in the soil has grown two buds in a few days. thereās another branch, uncut, that has a few buds thanks to the redirected nutrients. IM SO EXCITED!!!!!
Update on the Jade propagating: all the cuttings have calloused and Iāve moved all the stem cuttings with leaves to the top of the base plantās soil so they get plenty of sun and start growing some roots. The smaller branches have received their own tiny pot to start growing roots, and the 2 large stalks all the other cuttings came from are still in the bottles. The current debate: should I plant the cuttings with leaves already with my baby jade that rooted from cuttings of the same base plant I took in May, or give it a separate pot and form a slow-growing jade army? (Last photo is Lucy, my plant from the first set of cuttings. The idea here is if I add the new cuttings to Lucy, theyāll become a bushier plant is less time than if I plant the new jades on their own.)
Why are my satin pothos roots turning black? Is this something I should be concerned about?
How would I propagate an umbrella tree?
any tips on where i should clip my monstera albo? i want to prune the white leaf to encourage new growth so it doesnāt drain the plantās resources, but i want to be able to propagate it⦠but the closest node would mean also cutting the small green leaf. also wondering what medium i should use? perlite, moss, just water? any suggestions?
Wanted to keep a lil thread open for anyone interested in propagating jades. Feel free to share your tips below, and if anyoneās working on propagating their own jade and wants to ask any questions, Iād be happy to answer, but I thought itād be a good idea to show my process on propagating my 30-year-old jade plant, Aslan. Currently, Iām giving the cuttings time to callous, and cut them all with some shears I sanitized with some hydrogen peroxide. Iāll be using colored glass bottles to try to emulate the natural way roots grow with less light exposure than they usually experience with clear bottles. Thisāll be in hopes of allowing the cuttings to develop stronger roots like they would if naturally grown in soil, where they just donāt get that much direct light. Iāll post little updates throughout the weeks for anyone interested.
Am I doing this right ? š I was given cuttings of aloe I let it callous over and potted it up, Iām seeing no signs of roots tho ?
Should I transfer to soil ?
I need help my Marino moss ball Iāve had for about 314 weeks hasnāt done anything it isnāt turning brown but it isnāt floating I got it from wet plants is it nrimsl for it to not sink up and down
Hey yāall! Iām new to this group and just wondering how to propagate this beauty. Her name is Julia ;)
Made a little mixed pot of my pothos cuttings! Just waiting for my neon pothos to root up a bit more before I add the final cuttings š Included currently are golden pothos, Nājoy, and marble queen!
Making a new pathos hanger with āfallenā pathos leaves propagated for a couple weeks
Has anyone tried honey as a rooting hormone? Root rot got to my plant & I donāt have much left with roots so I was wanting to propagate in soil like I did with a pothos but I donāt have much plant to trial & error.
I just noticed that my Neon Pothos has started to revert its variegated pattern. It starts losing that neon color. Is this normal, and what could be affecting the variegation?
i havenāt owned succulents or done any propagation in 5 years but iām holding out hope for these newer cuttings š¤š any tips for this method would be appreciated greatly, as it has been awhile š®āšØ i plan to mist again once the soil is fully dry. it sits in my west-facing windowsill from noon until sunset, otherwise on my shelf. is my routine raising red flags or needing improvement?
Okay iāve been working with this one for about a year- propagated from cuttings: she used to be thriving, but a couple months ago my cat tore off the new growthš (hence why she is in a hanging planter now) itās looked like this for months with no new growth, any advice?
When repotting what I believe is a Chinese Evergreen (pictured), I noticed this guy. It hasnāt grown leaves or anything in months & when I dug it out, noticed itās not really growing roots either. Is there something I can do to rescue it or propagate using this piece? Or should I just toss?
