You know what will provide a proper dose of serotonin? Coming home to see your basil seedlings are starting to pop up! This is my first time trying to sow using a plain ole potting mix, and seeds from a packet (previously used “smart garden” kits) Do you have any advice on soil mixes you’ve used that you like, or any recommendations for ratios when mixing your own? Also, would love to hear about your favorite plants to grow from seeds! I plan to sow again soon and would like to experiment with various seeds and setups ^_^

any idea how to propagate a aloe vera plant? she is starting to rot on one of her leaves and i want to propagate her.
Hi everyone! I propagated this umbrella tree cutting & planted it in some soil about a month & a half ago & the roots are already popping out of the bottom of the pot. Should I repot her again? Or leave her for a while? Hopefully this is the right group for this question! 😊
So, I managed to break off 2 pieces of Caliope. I stuck them in water when I did it about a week ago, and although new roots were showing practically overnight, they now look like this… Is that normal?? 🤷🏻♀️
Rooted this begonia cutting in water. Just potted it in a plastic pot yesterday. Looking happy this morning. It will be going outdoors. Any suggestions for space it will like? I live in a zone 9.
Hi i’m new to propagating plants, and i’ve got this pink princess that needs some trimming real bad, but im not sure how to do it or where at. or even what to use. i’ve been told to try sitting it in water after trimming it until the roots grow, but ive seen some posts on here have some good ideas but again im not too sure! any kind of help would be lovely🫶🏻🫶🏻
Hello! Are dark ends on roots normal? I noticed a few of my cuttings have these dark little ends at the root. I felt to see if they were squishy but didn’t seem so. Is it rot?
Decided to propagate my Pathos for the first time! Wish me luck! Any tips and tricks are appreciated!
I’m so excited! My fiddle leaf fig ‘Bambino’ propagation is ready to move into its own pot. It even has a baby leaf 😍 He’s been keeping me company on my kitchen window since November. I’m so happy he’s growing up! P.s. sorry for the messes in the background 🤦♀️
Hello all .. so I’m thinking of propagating my monstera as it’s starting to yellow and black spot along with aerial roots… can someone tell me once I cut under a node if this needs to sit out for a bit or if immediately submerge to water ( for water planting ) or in some perlite
Got this cutting at a swap. I super glued the end and put her in leca semi hydro set up. Is this a root starting?
happy to say my little prop jar bouquet is rooting in perlite, this won’t be a permanent fixture but for the time being it’ll stay like this bc it looks pretty
3 days in this journey of restoring a friends money tree from scratch and I see it starting to cal-ace🙌🏼
My Alocasia corm came on the mail super fast 🖤💨 now to get perlite today to start propping
Hi everyone, I just found out the incredibly hard way that my monstera did in fact have root rot. This is all that’s left. Is there any way i Could save this by putting it in water/making a cutting? Or is it too late for my OG plant. This was the first plant I ever bought that started me off on my journey so a little sad here, however its sister from the same nursery pot is still thriving. But I named them Mickey and Minnie, I will be heartbroken if we lose Mickey😂 Thanks in advance. Let me down gently is there’s no coming back😂🙏🏻
Hi, I’ve had this cebu blue cutting in water for a little over a year now. I tried to transfer a second cutting of this plant but killed it. Are there any tips? Should I cut it anywhere to promote more growth?
Found these cute mushroom vases at target. I think they’d be great for water propagations.
Does anyone have any experience/tips for air layering? I’ve water propagated plenty of times, but only just heard of this method when researching what to do about my leggy chinese evergreen. From what I’ve seen it seems like you pretty much just keep moist soil on top of the nodes until roots start to come out, is this correct or am i oversimplifying? Any and all advice would be appreciated, thanks.
Hello! Very new to propagating and a friend gave me this Monstera Albo cutting that I really don’t want to ruin. It’s growing something but I’m not seeing any roots other than one aerial root it has towards one end… I’m hoping it’s a good sign that it’s growing something but do I just keep leaving it alone like this? At what point should I hope to see some roots? Thanks so much for the help!
So I’ve been propagating this alternanthera. the roots grew out to about an inch and haven’t gotten longer in at least a month. Any tips or is this normal?
