Hello! Very new to propagating and a friend gave me this Monstera Albo cutting that I really don’t want to ruin. It’s growing something but I’m not seeing any roots other than one aerial root it has towards one end… I’m hoping it’s a good sign that it’s growing something but do I just keep leaving it alone like this? At what point should I hope to see some roots? Thanks so much for the help!
that is a new leaf!! congrats! im not sure when more roots will come in, but i would keep leaving it alone. the black rotted bit on the end of the other stem is a bit worrysome, but is one of the less important parts that could rot. if its an old stem from a leaf, you could probably just take it off, as its not doing much. others might have a more advanced take, but hope this helped!
1 j'aime So the one rotted end was actually the stem with the leaf. When she shipped it the heating pad fell on the stem and rotted like a 5inch piece before it got to me, that is where the dead originally started. Would you suggest just cutting it closer to the main stem? Thank you so much for commenting!
0 J'aime yea, you could cut it closer, or break it off at the growth point, where it connects. you can also probably just cut off the rotted bit and leave some of the still alive stem :)

i would recommend snipping the rotten stem as c.cat suggested but other than that keep leaving it alone and mist the moss when it dries. looks like your cutting is making good progress

0 J'aime Thank you both for commenting when I went to trim the stem with the dead it actually came right off at the base! Shes looking much better and happier now!
