Hiya! Looking to propagate some plants of mine to give as gifts for Christmas this year. Hoping they’ll be “full” looking in time if I start now. Going to try Chinese Money plant, ZZ, crotons, a variety of succulents, pothos, etc.. Curious what your guys’ advice are on how to go about each one. Have you had better luck in water? Spagmoss? Soil? My snake plant grew ROOTS in almost 1-2 weeks while I’ve had others take 2+ months. I know it’s quite the variety but I want to do what’s best for each one so I have success come December. TIA!!!

Hi! I’d love to get my rubber tree to branch out some more and create a cutting in the process. I have a couple of questions about that. 1. If I cut where indicated in the picture (pink line), is it likely to have my plant creat two branches there? It is not the most dominant branch. Or, should I cut the other, more dominant branch? 2. For the cutting, I was thinking about just sticking it in a jar of water. This seems to work with many other plants (pothos, monstera) but I’ve never done it with a ficus. Online, it seems somewhat split between water vs air layering and curious if anyone has had a good experience with water propagation. Thanks!

I propagated my Variegated Wandering Dude a few weeks ago (maybe 2…?) and noticed that the area that I cut from is browning and looks weak. Anything I can do?

I started a monstera prop a bit ago and it has plenty of roots now so I could plant it but I kinda want to try just water. Do I literally just keep it in straight water? Any tips are helpful!

My daughter gave me a few Philodendron Florida cuttings her coworker gifted her. (she’s intimidated by anything philodendron or monstera lol) No visible roots and the nodes are on the small side… Any advice is appreciated 🌱🪴💚

I’m trying to propagate some stick cactus. All the cutting had roots up until this week when they all rotted and fell off. They keep putting out new roots, but rotting before they become larger. Any idea what I’m doing wrong or how to fix this??

Hey guys. My banyan fig tree had plenty of beautiful leaves drop recently because I didn't realise he was overly thirsty. Now he's super bare. Is it possible to somehow get him to start growing leaves from the empty nodes? Or do I need to chop and repropigate him...? I am not entirely sure if that will just kill him...I've never propagated an actually tree branch before. Would it work if I used the air layering method, to grow roots on the branch? Would that work to make him start sprouting leaves there again? I just wanna keep this boy.

Hello! As a newbie I have a quick q about my spider plant which has recently shot out a stem of baby plants. How do I save the babies? Is it just a case of chopping the stem and popping them in water with a bit of food? Or is there a better way to grow the babies on?

UPDATE ON PREVIOUS POST: I moved a Ficus cutting that had rooted in water and moved it to soil. I was really worried about it taking to the soil but there’s already a root growing out the bottom drainage hole 🙌😭🙌. This one’s definitely a success!

Hi all, Trying to propagate a house leek and failing. I do believe I potted it into soil that was too damp. Should I leave it to dry and hope for the best? Or should I pop into water and hope for some root growth? Thankyou in advance 😁

Got this pothos from a lade by my house, she said to just stick it in the soil so I did. Than I noticed it wasn't doing to well so I stuck it In some water and it keeps doing worse. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.
