I rescued this monstera from Home Depot a couple days ago, and gave it some of the purived plant food you see behind it, is this a new leaf starting to grow already? This is my first monstera, and yes I know it’s damaged.. but this is exactly how I bought it.

Propagating my pothos in water has been one of the most rewarding things in my plant mom journey haha, it’s almost guaranteed gratification, and it doesn’t need much. I don’t seal the open cuts, I don’t add fertilizer in the water, no misting… I just forget them in water and change the water once a week and in 2-3 weeks they have enough roots to be repotted.
I am also propagating for the first time a heart leaf philodendron using the same method. and it is already showing some new roots. Im so happy!
(ps: the two droopy leaves on the right vase are a cutting that I put into soil too soon, the cutting didn’t have any roots and I stuck it in soil to see if I could grow roots like that. It didn’t work for me and as soon as I noticed the leaves were dying I removed it from soil and put it back in water so it can properly root)

I just got this jade plant from a friend. I’m wondering if I can cut the top off from the stem and propagate it, it almost looks like I could??

Hi. I saved this monstera albo from root rot months ago by placing it in water with a pothos cutting and an air stone. These are her roots, brownish but not brown. Is it ready for soil? I tried doing the leca route but they started to look like this after I tried it so I’m thinking it might help time for soil. Just want to avoid root rot again. Last pic is how she was before.

This used to be a aloe that I overwatered :(

Help! I received these two pothos cuttings from a kind stranger. I read to keep them submerged for about 10 days until roots grow then plant. It’s been over 2 weeks and I don’t see any action. I’ve been changing water every few days and trying to keep them in the brightest spot in my house, although I don’t get a lot of direct sun in the winter. Any tips on what to do?

I know it’s wrong but it makes me so happy to take pieces of outdoor plants I see I like in public and try to propagate it and learn about it for fun. I find it very de-stressing to take walks and pick a piece of something and then do this. I know it’s wrong but i look forward to my daily walk (I live in Florida so plants are everywhere all the time outside). I don’t dig up peoples plants or take huge pieces from peoples houseplants or sneak around their backyard but if I am walking past a neighbors or public place on the sidewalk and they have a giant rose bush I will pinch off maybe 2-3 inches of a stem? I only do this on really big outdoor plants. Really how horrible is this? It’s bad… 😫

I took these off of a small succulent i got from home depot. Im not sure what the plant is, but can anyone give me a heads up on propigating it? I plan on watering it regularly (letting the soil dry between waterings) and i use a spray bottle to water them. Im only worried about the lighting for them though because i read a comment on a post here and someone said they wont do well with too much light, but i feel like i dont have enough light because they are in my room and my room is rather dark.

Hello, I’m not to familiar with propagating and am wonder if this lil guy my spider plant sprouted could be cut and made into a baby spider plant? If so what’s be the right way to do so?

The girl in front of me at the plant store today wasn’t paying attention and let the door close on the plant she had just purchased and kept walking. As I’m walking out I find this. What is the best way of propagating this piece? I’m guessing because it has aerial roots it should be able to grow, I just want to get it into the correct medium to encourage that growth.

Hi all, I’m trying to save my money tree (whole trunk was soft with root rot) and I took a cutting, but the piece I’m propagating is weak & bent in one place. Should I cut it above this spot now?
