any tips on where i should clip my monstera albo? i want to prune the white leaf to encourage new growth so it doesn’t drain the plant’s resources, but i want to be able to propagate it
but the closest node would mean also cutting the small green leaf. also wondering what medium i should use? perlite, moss, just water? any suggestions?

Wanted to keep a lil thread open for anyone interested in propagating jades. Feel free to share your tips below, and if anyone’s working on propagating their own jade and wants to ask any questions, I’d be happy to answer, but I thought it’d be a good idea to show my process on propagating my 30-year-old jade plant, Aslan. Currently, I’m giving the cuttings time to callous, and cut them all with some shears I sanitized with some hydrogen peroxide. I’ll be using colored glass bottles to try to emulate the natural way roots grow with less light exposure than they usually experience with clear bottles. This’ll be in hopes of allowing the cuttings to develop stronger roots like they would if naturally grown in soil, where they just don’t get that much direct light. I’ll post little updates throughout the weeks for anyone interested.

Made a little mixed pot of my pothos cuttings! Just waiting for my neon pothos to root up a bit more before I add the final cuttings 😊 Included currently are golden pothos, N’joy, and marble queen!

Has anyone tried honey as a rooting hormone? Root rot got to my plant & I don’t have much left with roots so I was wanting to propagate in soil like I did with a pothos but I don’t have much plant to trial & error.

I just noticed that my Neon Pothos has started to revert its variegated pattern. It starts losing that neon color. Is this normal, and what could be affecting the variegation?

i haven’t owned succulents or done any propagation in 5 years but i’m holding out hope for these newer cuttings đŸ€žđŸ’š any tips for this method would be appreciated greatly, as it has been awhile 😼‍💹 i plan to mist again once the soil is fully dry. it sits in my west-facing windowsill from noon until sunset, otherwise on my shelf. is my routine raising red flags or needing improvement?

Okay i’ve been working with this one for about a year- propagated from cuttings: she used to be thriving, but a couple months ago my cat tore off the new growth😭 (hence why she is in a hanging planter now) it’s looked like this for months with no new growth, any advice?

When repotting what I believe is a Chinese Evergreen (pictured), I noticed this guy. It hasn’t grown leaves or anything in months & when I dug it out, noticed it’s not really growing roots either. Is there something I can do to rescue it or propagate using this piece? Or should I just toss?

Hello, I’m new to taking care of plants and I just got catnip plants from the nursery, they look a little rough because they were in a box for a few days during shipping. I originally got them to disuade pests in the apartment from coming to my unit, but I also have a cat and limited window space so I can see us needing more in the future. Since money is tight and I don’t want to keep buying new plants, I want to propagate them when they’re healthier. Does anyone have any tips for a beginner for propagating catnip? Blog posts made it seem relatively simple, but I would love to hear more opinions and experiences

To anyone wanting an update, the proto-roots have began to grow back! But I also have a question. When can I transfer pothos props to soil?

Hello, I’m new here. I have one of my caladiums, elephant ears, who is taking off like a champion. I found out I have a flower, unsure of its purpose or what to do if there’s anything to do with it. Any tips and advice would be nice. It looks like my red flash also have to flowers and just wanna make sure I can do anything that’s needed for them.

I seem to have a bonus baby in my caladium “Hilo Beauty”. It’s not near any alocasia. All Hilo leaves come out with the pattern. Anyone know what it could be?
