Has anyone tried honey as a rooting hormone? Root rot got to my plant & I donāt have much left with roots so I was wanting to propagate in soil like I did with a pothos but I donāt have much plant to trial & error.

Interesting, I havenāt heard of honey for propagation. So I donāt know if itāll work or not. Iāve heard many people who swear by cinnamon powder on fresh cut stems though
1 gillaTo be honest Iāve never propagated Pothos in soil I always use the in water methodā¦. I must of propagated more than 20 plantlings and gifted them. As for the honey rooting method Iāve tried it personally but Iāve seen videos stating that honey is good to use for propagation. If you do experiment with it please share your results with us. šššŖ“

If you don't have rooting powder, try cinnamon. Never heard of using honey.
0 gillningaridk about the honey (i think iāve seen a tiktok or something touting the method though) only because itās been mentioned here more than once - cinnamon doesnāt aid in rooting but it prevents fungal infection thatās why people use it on cuttings šš
2 gillningarI have maybe 2 shoots in here that have roots & I hunnied (lol) the rest, I moved her into a 4ā pot & put her inside instead of out. I hope she makes it. *I have also sprinkled cinnamon in the soil mix for all of my plants. I have learned it helps with the insects, I didnāt know about the fungus. Thanks everyone !
1 gillaI saw a propagation experiment on instagram where they used popular methods such as cinnamon, and a few different hormones, but the one that worked the best was actually honey! I would say go for it.
0 gillningarI went for it, all of the vines except for 1 rotted. Iām assuming because I didnāt cut it all out but Iām devastated & water propping the lone survivor.
