Ticked a dream plant off the list today. 🤩. She is a little sparse because of having some bad leaves probably due to overwatering from the self watering pots from costsa farms plants. I trimmed up some leaves, washed off the old soil, peroxide mix sprayed the roots in case of root rot and repotted in a slightly smaller pot with fresh well draining soil and new plant support stakes. She looks pretty dang good for $5. I hope she starts thriving in my care. 🥰

I am so proud of myself for the growth on this baby! When I rescued him from Lowe’s he had three crispy leaves and now thriving constantly putting out new babies! Should I be concerned of the little holes on the newish leaves? I have not noticed a single pest!

Hi does anyone know why my begonia’s spots are starting to be less bold and iridescent? Some are gray now! Is this an issue or just a sign of the leaf aging? Thank you! 🌿

I’ve been looking all over for a spotted begonia, I was checking out at a little coffee shop that also has plants for sale… I look up and on a shelf they had this lovely lady! I asked if it was for sale, they said a lady brought in a huge one so they were propagating it and they gave me this for FREE!! I was so happy. I went in there looking for one, didn’t find it and then walked out with a free one! I named her Dottie. And she has strong roots already!!

Can anyone help me identify my begonia? I’ve had her for about 3 months and she’s grown HUGE foliage for me but no blooms. I know she’s a Begonia Rex, but I am not sure what kind. Maybe a silver dollar?

Hi all. I got this polka dot begonia 6 days ago and repotted it in custom mix tropical soil (equal parts Fox Farms, perlite, orchid bark). It looked great when I got it and according to Planta, I last watered it the day I potted it, but part of me thinks I might have watered it a second time? My house humidity is always at least 50%. Planta says it is overwatered, but the soil feels pretty dry and from what I have read, they like it a little more moist than most plants. So is it really overwatered, actually underwatered, or just in shock from the repot and new environment? The leaves are still soft except the very tips, which are a little crunchy. Thank you! PS: it’s under a grow light 12 hrs day

Got my first Rex begonia a few days ago but I couldn’t resist these two. 😍 They’re absolutely gorgeous! Found them at a local outdoor plant shop.

So, I’m a new Rex parent. Iv tried this a couple of times before but just haven’t had much luck. Any advice on why they they would be worse off then from the store? The soil is drained but moist, and they have roughly 4-6 hrs of sun.

HELP! I got this Cracklin’ Rosie last fall and she is still ALIVE! Small miracle as I’ve had trouble with Begonia’s in the past. Why aren’t her leaves opening all the way up? Humidity? I have a humidifier that lives in this plant corner. She was pushed to the back and now I’ve moved her forward. I let her dry out to about 1.8 on my digital reader. Then water thru. Under a soltech grow light which is on 12 hrs per day - about to kick that up as we pass spring equinox. Help begonia professionals! ☺️

Hello! On a scale of 1-10 (1 being beginner plant owner, 10 being expert), I’m about a 2. I bought this Cracklin’ Rosie 12/29 (nursery potted it for me); pic on table is soon after taking her home. She’s being doing really well, besides the choppy leaf, considering my level, and compared to my other plants—I just want some advice. She’s growing like crazy and I haven’t fertilized her yet, I’m scared of interrupting her groove. But now that it’s spring, will I be able to see some flowers? Also, I had her in almost full sun outside lately but moved her to a shadier spot because her leaves were getting a bit crispy as shown in first two pics. I try to mist twice a day. She’s one of my only real successes so far and she’s so beautiful, I’d appreciate any support!
