Hello! I am looking to transfer my monstera from water to leca, or another semi hydroponic medium, it has a well developed root system, any suggestions? Additionally I have a very small monstera cutting I rescued from a plant killed by the cold earlier this year with one healthy root. Any suggestions for reviving this one in semi hydroponics? Thanks!
HELP‼️ I’m new to aquatic pothos and wish to add some Golden to my aquarium! I’ve de-potted and split into separate plantlets, and has been in a jug of water for ~2 weeks. How do I go about moving to my aquarium? Do I just add straight away? Any help would be appreciated :D
Help!!! I’ve been putting my alocasias in water to transition them to pon . It’s been going just fine until today I noticed the tip of a few of the corms are rotting. My Variegated frydek, Polly, Silver Dragon, and Dragons Breath all are having this issue. For now I put less water in so it doesn’t touch the rotten bottom of the corm. Except the Veriegated frydek, I put that one in a mix of fluval stratum, pon, & perlite. Should I take it out and place it in water too with the water not touching the very bottom? Problem is the plant is very tall and I’m not sure how to keep it from touching the water! It only has one leaf so nothing will grip to the jar I use, it will just fall straight in. Any info would be great because I have read numerous places that alocasia do not rot in water! I’m so frustrated.
I want to transfer my snake plant out of soil and use clay pebbles. I keep looking online for the step by step and after care but nothing useful! Anyway, does anyone know and can anyone give me some advice?
Has anyone ever grown this plant in leca? I bought it from Walmart and it says to water it with ice, but the app tells me to water it completely differently from the tag instructions. it’s a root bound plant but I’m afraid of root rot because I can never keep orchids alive due to root rot.
Has anyone transitioned a bonsai to hydroponic? I have only found one article / video online. Curious if anyone has had success. (Photo from online)

Omg how did I not know there was a semi hydro group?! Anyways I have a question, I’ve been growing my alocasias in pon/stratum/perlite (in mason jars or self watering pots). Do I need to remove the mushy soil roots I can see in the jar? I do see water roots growing! It would just be so hard to get to them lol. From what I hear in the pots it’s ok because they desenagrate and wash out the bottom eventually but how do you take care of them in the jars?
How do you set up planta to track semihydro tasks?? I need help.
What do you use for nutrients? I used General Hydroponics for a while. Recently I started using Gold Leaf. I’m wondering if Gold Leaf by itself is enough?
I got this Monstera Esqueleto a few weeks ago and this is the first plant I have that is being grown in non-soil mix — looks like a mixture of perlite and some sort of rocks? I’m wondering how I should adequately water/care for this plant. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!!
I have a few pothos cuttings I rescued that someone was throwing away at work, I've had them for about 2ish months and they are doing really well (I have one with a new leaf and one new stem starting on another!) I want to start adding fertilizer, any suggestions on brands?
Is LECA really necessary? That’s pretty much all I see nowadays, but I’m interested in transferring plants to water-only. I know that LECA increases oxygen to the roots and helps with stability, but it also doesn’t add any nutrients. So I’m just wondering if water and suitable fertilizer can be just as successful. Thanks in advance!

I found water roots growing on my snake plants! These ones have been in leca for about 3-5 weeks now.
Hello! Newbie here; I have a type of snake plant that I’m trying to propagate in water. It’s been sitting there for at least 2-3 weeks and I see no signs of nothing. I’m using distilled water. Is there something additional I could be doing? Thank you in advance.
I have some bamboo and a propagation in a vase because I didn’t know what to do with the bamboo, and then the prop leaves… were ones that kinda fell off when I was watering my big prayer plant. It’s been 3 weeks, they all have growth in the roots and new leaves and I’m shocked. I added a little drop of liquid fertilizer in the water weeks ago when I started it, and I added some pebbles until I can get some leca or something else for the roots. This is my only hydroponic setup currently, I’m open to trying it with more plants but I just don’t know enough to really jump in yet. Any tips are welcome 🥰
We’ve been getting so much more daylight here recently, and my plants have been loving it. I found a bunch today that now have water roots in their water reservoir!
