I want to transfer my snake plant out of soil and use clay pebbles. I keep looking online for the step by step and after care but nothing useful! Anyway, does anyone know and can anyone give me some advice?

    I’ve recently done this. You’ll want to first get the leca pebbles and rinse them of the clay dust. It’s important for pest control and plant health. I put mine in a bucket and filled it with water, soak for 1-2 hours, then put the balls into a second bucket and pour out the dirty water (outside NOT in your sinks or toilets) and fill the second bucket with clean water, repeat. Some people say they’re fine after two rinses, some say 5-6. Soak the clean pebbles in water, or water with your fertilizer added for like 5 hours. Then find a clean waterproof pot or jar (or McDonald’s cup) and add a base layer of pebbles about 1-2”. I might be going out of order here but you want to make sure your snake plant’s roots are free of dirt. Gently remove it from the pot, and carefully remove the soil from the roots. Get as much as you can without causing too much damage to roots and then soak the roots in warm water for an hour or so, changing out the water every so often if it gets too dirty. Once the roots are almost completely dirt free then you can add it to the pot on top of the base layer of pebbles. Carefully add more pebbles around the roots until they are covered and the plant is stable and then add water/fertilizer water to the pot but only add it to the top of the base layer, you definitely do not want your roots sitting in water. Snake plants especially dislike over watering. With leca pebbles you need to add nutrients to the water every so often because there’s no soil for the plant to get them from. From everything I’ve read you need a good kelp based fertilizer/plant food. I’ve been using just a regular houseplant fertilizer until I take the time to calculate the hydroponic nutrients I will need. I really hope I’ve helped. Oh and a clear container works best so you can check the progress of the root growth and make sure the roots aren’t sitting in water. Good luck!
