Hi Wise ones..suggestions needed. This snake plant is old..like it originally was in a dish garden I received when my dad died in 1998. Obviously parts have aged off and it’s been repotted multiple times so new growth is probably great great grand roots of original..so part droops and middle stands tall as it should. Should I repot to smaller pot and cut off the outer leaves?? The new growth is very healthy

Cat friendly/non-toxic plant recommendations? I’m a brand new plant parent but I also have 3 mosey cats. I waited forever to bring plants into the house because I was afraid of them making the cats sick, but I have been learning that there are some that are safe for the cats. What are your favorite pet friendly/non- toxic plants?

Hi all, Any advice on whether or not this button fern can be saved? Propagated? The leaves are mostly dry and brittle, a few green left. I’ve never kept a button fern before. Thanks, Greg

Anyone know what these brown spots are on our bromeliad? It’s on a table in a south window and we water it every Saturday or Sunday.

So I repotted my orchid Wednesday evening, and 2 of the flowers started wilting yesterday afternoon. It was doing fantastic before repotting. I’ve had it for about a month and the pot didn’t have drainage and the air roots were overflowing from the pot, so I had to repot. I’m using an orchid soil mix, didn’t pack the soil too much and gently watered it just to wet the soil. I did move it about 1 1/2 yards away from where it was before the repot, but when I noticed the flowers I moved it back to its original spot and set up a humidifier. The new bud is opening this morning, I’m just wondering if it will be okay or if I should do more to help it destress 😞 Note: it’s been in the corner of an east facing and south facing window. The south facing window gets filtered light, east facing gets full morning light until about 9 am when it’s filtered. Also has 2 full spectrum grow lights nearby. As I said, the orchid has been doing fantastic up until yesterday.

Anybody understand why Pothos will rarely grow new leaves not from the ends? I have this Pothos I propagated and started growing leaves off nodes that lost leaves. Why??

Help please. Got this one a few weeks ago, and it’s just looking terrible. It’s in airy soil mix of equal parts potting soil, perlite and vermiculite. I just added the grow light yesterday in case that’s the issue. It’s close (about a foot away) from a south facing window. It just looks so sad and not sure if it needs more or less water or more or less light. House is okay on humidity (usually 55-60%) and temp (in 60’s) since I got it about 3 weeks ago. I’ve looked all over not seeing any signs of thrips, mealy bugs or spider mites.

Okay… so I propagated a mini spider plant from the bigger one in the back. Wondering if the baby needs a smaller pot. Thoughts?

hi there! i'm a super beginner plant parent! while researching i see people placing their plant from the store with the plastic pot from the store directly into a nice pot, without reporting into the bigger pot with soil. i know this is a silly question, but am i supposed to keep it in the plastic one inside of the decor pot? or do i repot it into the big decor pot? thank you so so much!

Do you use pot liners or do you plant directly into the pot? If both have proper drainage, is one method better than the other? I’m #TeamDirectlyInThePot just because using liners felt too…sterile.

Is this a standard Jose Buono or Texas Jose? Are all Jose Buonos variegated?

Will these roots assist with propagation if i plant the pups? I heard they are air roots but wondering if it will act the same as regular roots when planted..

I’m new here and new to plants. What type of fertilizer should I use?

Hello planty friends! My BOP shot up a few new leaves recently, and a couple have unfurled before reaching a height above the older leaves. Will the new leaves still continue to shoot upwards? It’s looking a little unpleasant and crowded having unfurled so low 😅

Can anyone tell me how to keep string plants from thinning out and then getting dry brittle stems at the top of the plant? This is the longest I’ve kept one alive. They don’t do well for me.

This is my dieffenbachia! It loves this window and has grown 3x it’s original size. I’m wondering if I need to replant it in a larger container and should I put more supports in it to lift up the stems? If so, how do I do that?

What type of philodendron is this? I was told it could be either a Florida ghost or Florida green. Please help!
