I brought home and Alocasia Bambino from the grocery store last night (I know, regretting it already!) and I have seen 3 bugs in my office today 😩 Does anyone know what this is? I repotted it immediately into my Molly’s mix. It had plugs. At this point I’m worried about my other plants more than this surviving.

This needed TLC. I repotted it, took out some dead leaves, cut the roots back. It suffered from being rootbound and not enough water. I told the cashier I’ll save it.

My black velvet currently has a flower that’s opened, another that is opening within the next week, and a new leaf (not sure why its so happy but I’m not complaining!). My question is… How long do people wait to cut off the flower? I’m not looking to cut them before they bloom. They’re weird and they stink but I’m loving them. But once they have, do you just let it die naturally? Or cut it off at a certain point?

Hi! Wondering if I should be trimming the brown/dead/old leaves off of my Alocasia? They’re also very wet, I thought it was for overwatering but I’ve refrained and they’re still very wet. Also also, anyone know what kind of Alocasia this is?

Hi there… I am very new to Sphagnum moss. Wondering if you need to change it? Does it get moldy if left in the same moss? Also new to this plant. Started these from a corm and wondering if these grow slow… They seem to be at a standstill..

I got this pink princess a couple months ago. I was too eager to repot her and thought I for sure damaged her. She’s been living in my ikea greenhouse… just returned from 5 days away and LOOOK AT THIS NEW GROWTH 🤩🤩

PRETTY BABY PRETTY BABY, alocasia’s are now one of my favs, I’ve got it in a general houseplant potting mix BUT when spring comes imma repot it into an aroid soil? Not sure of the spelling but YEAH. I’m also propagating some corns I unapologetically stole from it. Do y’all have any big leafy pretty alocasia recommendations? 🤭

Just here to prove that not all peat pods are death plugs! I decided to repot my polly into a chunkier mix and noticed it had the so called "death plug" aka peat pod seed starter. And while not many roots were growing in it, it was home to 6 baby corms 🥰. The remaining two corms were off of the main healthy root system. Now I suspect the manner in which corms grow allowed for this plug not to restrict root growth or encourage root rot, but that's just my speculation. Fingers crossed these babies do their thing! 🤞🏽 happy planting 🌱

I can officially call myself an Alocasia aficionado now that my extremely happy (has put out 3 new leaves this week) Silver Dragon has put out a flower (it has not fully bloomed yet). Anyone else have their indoor Alocasias bloom?! Any tips?! I’m thrilled
