I have an assortment of full grown alocasias but my favorite are definitely these I gew from a corm in a plant trade✌️😩. Im tempted on searching for a melo since I i already have the black velvet and maharani [a cross of melo x black velvet] anyone have experience though? I heard they're hard, also does anyone have a place they can get alocasia corms from?

What is wrong with my Alocasia Baginda? I recently put my Alocasia Baginda into a hydroponic pot with leca, i’m not sure as to whether the curling on the leaves is due to shock as a result of this or something else?

This is a rehab azlanii (I got it to grow a leaf, so pretty!). I was away for a week and when I came back there was this odd curved horizontal growth. At first I thought it was a fallen mushroom stem but it’s quite firm. I’m pretty new to alocasia. It’s in an ikea milsbo greenhouse with high humidity.

Hi everyone ! I’m new Alocasia care! I just bought this one.. the stems are so droopy, I’m trying to keep them up with a moss stick and a tie. Do they get stronger ? Or anything I can do to help it ?

had to chop her up when I first got her but she’s grown two new leaves back nice and healthy with two buds coming in🥳…question is this a leaf coming in as well near the base of the plant? 👀

Hello Alocasia experts! This plant was given to me as a gift yesterday and I have never owned this type of plant before. It’s a variegated green velvet alocasia. 1) What are some tips for this plant that will help it thrive? What are some things I should expect? 2) I have a monstera that I want to repot soon and I was wondering if chunky soil will be good for this plant? How do 3) does this plant drop leaves in the winter? Does it go dormant? How many leaves does it produce at a time? 4) I am currently placing it behind a sheer curtain to protect it from morning light. I have an east facing window and get tons of direct morning light and bright indirect light. Can I acclimate this plant to direct morning light?

Just repotted my Frydek, have these two babes plus 4 corms. Anyone on here local to the Upper Valley of NH/VT that'd be interested in some plant swap/trades from time to time? I've been gifting some to co-workers. I dont have enough to "sell" but I dont have alot of room to house so many multiples of the same plants...just a thought... on top of these frydek, I still have 3 pollys I've propped, 4 corms brewing from Scalprum. A Stingray soon to be repotted (guessing there will be corms) It'd be kinda cool to exchange with some neighbors.

Still pushing leaves this summer! This new leaf is already birthing a new leaf as of today.

I recently got this silver dragon. It has been under a grow light for about 12-14 hours a day and about a week after I got it, I repotted (into bigger pot as it was root bound) it into a chunky soil mix with perlite and orchid bark. Ever since the repot, the leaves got mushy and started drooping with these spots. Seems like an overwatering issue, but wanting to rule out a possible light issue or pest issue?

hey all! i swear my polly mom hates me. so she’s produced corms and I’ve sprouted them perfectly. mom on the other hand feels like she’s losing the will to live. she used to be much fuller but over the past two months she let go of 4 leaves. when i first got her she had two flowers (which i cut off because i was very new at being a plant parent but now i realized i should’ve just left them) and that made her drop two leaves. i left for a long weekend in june and she got upset and said good bye to two more leaves. nooooow she’s upset again and is letting go of two more leaves. do you think these leaves are going because two new flowers are emerging or she hates me cause i stole her babies and they’re doing amazing without her? i’m joking about plant baby-napping. i water her when the top two inches are dry and I’ve checked her roots and they look fine. it does take her about two weeks for the top two inches to dry so maybe she’s not draining fast enough? any advice is greatly appreciated. i don’t wanna give up on mamacita!

So I’ve had this alocasia for about 6 months and it keeps dropping leaves when new ones grow. it has put out several new leaves but also lost several. and it starts with these spots. i’ve been following plantas care schedule. is this normal or is there something wrong?

Any ideas why my longiloba popped out this leaf? It has been open for almost two weeks now

I got two new alocasias today (I think). They weren't labeled. Any idea what kinds?

I’ve struggled so much with alocasia frydek. This is my second one and she just lost all her leaves. Is there a way I can revive her?

SOS! I've had this Scalprum in perlite for months & got used to checking & finding zero progress. But yesterday when I gave it a tug I felt roots which was shocking given that the tip I had above the perlite was still completely closed. So I pulled it out and now I'm thinking I planted it upside down? What should I do now? Replant with roots/growth up?

I did a huge chop and prop last year on my Micholitziana. When I repotted, I didn't cover the entire stalk with pon because I wasn't sure if it would get stem rot or not. She is starting to grow so my question is:1) Should I just fill the rest of the planter up with pon to help her develop more,stronger roots. OR 2) Do I gig her up and just fill the bottom with more pon and let her develop roots that way?
