Hello! I recently repotted my alocasia negra/plumbea. I found 3 corms and have them sitting I water to hopefully grow. Iâve noticed that theyâve all turned a dark color from the original white when I first peeled them. Is this normal? How long does it take to begin sprouting? These are about 2wks old now.
When fertilizing do you still bottom water? Sorry im still fairly new here. đ
My first leaf from my Walmart rescue, one week progress!
A little stressed from shipping still very cute
Cutie leaf
Had the pleasure of attending the Big Plant Expo last week in SC and picked up three new plants đ€ Alocasia Black Velvet Pink; Black Velvet Gold and Maharani Albo. Did anyone else attend the plant expo? Get any new plants? đ
Itâs been months but my corms have finally turned into baby Frydeks! Very excited for this.
Well my Ninja is rescued from Walmart finally lost its bad leafs. Im seriously hoping she comes out of the bad I got her from. I've repotted with a good soil mixture. đ€ im pretty new to this so any advise is welcome â€ïž
Looks like my Black Velvet is flowering. Iâve heard itâs better to cut these to divert energy back to the leaves. Should I cut it or keep it?
Introducing Neo Jr., my first baby from a corm! đ„č Mama sadly died in childbirth (i.e. transplanting) but baby seems happy and healthy! â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
When + how should I repot this (what medium etc.) and should I be adding anything to the water to help it establish its roots? Thanks!
Favorite plant update! (Plus the general surrounding setup)
Iâve been growing some a bunch of different tissue culture alocasias for the last couple of months. Some of the first new leafs are coming in so much larger than what I started out with and canât wait for these plantlets to grow đ
Hello! I rescued this beauty from good old Walmart 2 weeks ago. She was in pretty bad shape. Leaves curled and all. I do have a new leaf as you can see. So yay!! Dhe was bone dry. I re potted her and gave her a good water. My question is should I cut off these curled leaves for her to thrive or leave them? Im obsessed with the beauty of this Ninja girl!
When I first started out, gathering a few plants in my home, not knowing that I would create a jungle of peace and tranquility! I had a silver dragon, and I killed it not once but twice, two different plants! I declared after that I would never get a silver dragon again! yesterday at Home Depot- this little guy called to me. I am now over 100 plants deep and I think Iâm at the point where I might be able to keep this little guy alive. lol I feel like this is a test somehow. lol
Iâm new to Alocasias, Iâve never had this happen to one of my plants since being a more seasoned plant parent. Iâm stumped on why these yellowing spots are happening. repotted from nursery pot 2 months agoâ Well draining soilâ Humidity trayâ Is having new growthâ Occasionally mistingsâ Pot isnât too bigâ Iâm guessing itâs humidity bc I live in a dry state. Anyone know why this happens with Alocasias? Writing this Iâm realizing I think I fertilize it twice already, on accident while fertilizing other plants, could this be for over fertilizing?
2 leaf different, upsizing like crazyyyy. Cuprea is definitely one of my favorites
My Alocasia gave me a beautiful new leaf and is working on another!
My new babies! In love!!!!
