Lost Horticulturist

Finally got some self watering pots so I can take a week away and worry less. Had a repotting frenzy and even got the sprouted corms in. - Norberta (Silver Dragon) dropped another corm in the process. - Moriarty (variegated Frydek) - Odara Batik - 2 sprouted Silver Dragon corms - 1 sprouted Pink Black Velvet corm

I have an alocasia corm and would like to know what side I should plant it on and if I should take off the brown root that it wasnโ€™t connected to its mother plant with. Thank You!

My Alocasia Frydek new leaf is growing quickly! Other leaves are splaying outwards a bit but I guess it's ok?? ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŒฑ Or, should I support the other leaves with a stake or something, or are they ok just reaching wherever they want to go?! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Should I repot my alocasia? I am going to the plant store in two days and want to know if I should get a new pot for it. Thanks!

Why is this unfurling leave have these small holes? Is there a possibility of pest?

Best substrate for this dragon scale alocasia? Iโ€™ve had it living in just water for a few months now because I had a mealy bug problem but they seem to be gone now. I noticed one part of the plant (the two small leaves in back) are curling up seemingly because of dehydration so Iโ€™m worried that they are experiencing root rot Should I give LECA a try or is there a better option?

I just bought this beautiful alocasia Zebrina for 25$ at my local Kroger. I used sexy plant juice spray on her to clean up the leafs it works wonders (2 cups of water, 1 tablespoon of PEPPERMINT Castile soap, one tablespoon of neem Oil. @paigetailyn TikTok)

I just got the acclimated Bambino Pink Albo. Please tell me how to keep her beautiful. She will go under a grow light but I am worried about humidity!

Hi, what would cause this yellowing? I have 3 leaves doing this, photographed. It has just put out two much larger healthier leaves, is this just cycling? Thank you

Is my Alocasia Polly a goner? It has continued to drop leaves so Iโ€™m going to try a new location (couple feet away from an east facing window). Afraid to overwater (following the apps suggested watering but the soil is dry again several days early according to my moisture detector). Any and all recommendations welcome.

I tried to put my Alocasia polly in a semi-hydro setup and gave her root rot ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Oops. Can someone help me understand how to use a semi-hydro setup without repeating the same mistake? Any resources such a youtube videos diving into this topic would also be greatly appreciated. I used a diy lechuza pon recipe but am open to other options. She was living in my greenhouse cabinet where it got 12 hours of light each day. I did wash the roots clean before transferring to semi-hydro so there wasnโ€™t any soil on them. My specific questions are: 1.) How do you know when to water again and how much water to provide? 2.) Do you follow the same rule of thumb for sizing a planter for a semi-hydro setup as you do for soil/potting mix (i.e about 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball)? 3.) What medium do you like to use and why? Thanks in advance!
