hello all!
wondering if anyone can help. Iāve had this large lady for 1+ years now. Have been through the cycle of winter leaf loss once already (but in a different house). This time round itās losing a lot more leaves than before and now two of my leaves have āsnappedā. Is it bad placement? Watering issue? This is a south facing window - when the sun shines its full sun!
Any help would be appreciated š

Can this be saved??? If so, whatās the best option? Click on picture to see it in full.
Back story: it was in a 4 inch pot. I went to check on the roots and most of them just disintegrated into the soil. Root rot, I supposeā¦

Within the past two weeks Iāve gone from ālet the inflorescence grow, I heard itās beneficial to the plantā to āthis is starting to seem a bit wonky hereā to āCUT THEM OFF STAT THEYāRE DRAINING TOO MUCH ENERGYā
Even with fertilizing, my once extremely happy alocasia is now drooping severely on all accounts, even staked up šš I feel like Iām failing her

My current fave thing is to buy baby plants at my nursery for $2.99-3.99, like this baby alocasia. Any guesses what kind? A worker wasnāt sure as they were unpacking them and she couldnāt find the list.

Went to Lowes to look for clear nursery pots and left with this baby and an airplant instead. How often do you guys wait to repot your alocasias? It also came in a self watering, but it has a long root sticking out the bottom of the pot.
Iām also curious to see if it has any corms!!

I let my alocasia flower and now itās drooping!! Is this normal? Does it just need time to recover or am I doing something wrong?

Hellooooo!!!š„³š„³
I got these two beautiful plants yesterday and deep cleaned both of them (bc I saw some bugs in other plants at the store) and repotted them in their same pots (after washing of course) and you would not BELIEVE how many babies I found!! Trying different propagation methods and hoping everything goes smoothly!

I bought a healthy elephant ear from Trader Joeās back over the summer. Long story short, I managed to slowly kill the main stalks and leaves. This was either through an accident causing physical trauma (one time I put it outside for some sun and it tipped over in the wind and a main leaf stalk broke in half.) or just poor care (waiting too long to repot it from its nursery post. When I finally did, it never developed strong roots, tipped over, and eventually died after I tried in vain to save it.)
During its early time with me though when it was thriving, it sprouted this tiny little ābaby leafā near it in the pot. In some plants like aloe it would be called a āpupā, but not sure if the same terminology applies here. Throughout everything, only this lone leaf has survived.
Iāve been leaving it in this pot for the last several weeks and while it hasnāt gotten worse, itās not gotten any bigger than this. Is this as big as itās going to get? Should I cut my losses and start over entirely with a new elephant ear?

Hey guys! About a year or so ago I bought an Alocatia black velvet from either Samās or Costco, I donāt remember which, she was so lovely and one of my favorite plants by far. Dw started to not do so well and she lost all of her leaves, they just fell over so I trimmed them off. She grew back leaves, but every time they would get floppy and fall over so they would break. Now Iām left with 2 sad little bulbs. Iāve planted them in perlite because thatās whatās someone recommended to me so they will establish very healthy roots, but I just donāt know what to do. It makes me so sad to see her like this. If anyone has any advice or theoryās on where I may have went wrong, please let me know!! I really want to try my best to save her!!
Thank you so much!!

This is my second Alocasia! Really want to get it right this time. The first one almost died of root rot and is currently recovering. Only the tuber was left š„¹

I just noticed this nice new leaf today! Alocasia cuprea. It always has only two or three leaves. I bet after this one unrolls an older leaf will fall off. Do you guys experience the two to three leaf only thing with your Alocasias? Not all but several of mine are this way. They grow one and drop one.

Should I repot this baby? I got it new in November and it just grew like crazy, I mean it was small when I got it and maybe 3 leaves. Itās so happy I donāt want to ruin it.
Itās came in what I believe is peat moss, which I love. If I do repot, should I use the same? Would it need fertilizer?
I donāt want to kill my baby!
