Strange Marking on Leaf: Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has experienced this - my new leaf recently unfurled on my year old alocasia Frydek and the top right area had a weird marking on it. Is this something that should be concerning? No signs of any pest and all of the other leaves are fine. Room has decent humidity (60-70%), and sits near a SE facing window, also watered with distilled water. Any advice is much appreciated!

My new variegated Frydek just arrived in the mail! It came in this cute little 2â pot and Iâm super excited to finally have one. This was a little reward to myself for making the deanâs list last semester. âșïž
My new and second alocasia đ black velvet đ©” she was in desperate need of new soil but had healthy roots. Hopefully this one likes me more than my Amazonica (who is fine but wonât give me any new leaves)
The baby plant is looking like that and I donât know why. There is not much humidity in my room and I suspect why the tip of the baby leaf was dry. So I thought âGee let me squirt some water on the Q-Tip and put some water on itâ đđđđ Fast forward, while Iâve put it under a grow light in hope to further stimulate growth to this baby plant, for some reason its looking the way it looks in the following picture (left; right is how it looked like originally). What does that mean??? Does it mean itâs dying?đđđ I donât only want my plant have two leaves! I never knew alocasia was SUCH a tough indoor plant (next to calatheađđ)
I feel ashamed to say I lost both of my alocasias this month to spider mites đ should I throw them out or look for corms? Should I save the corms that already sprouted and try again? Iâm not sure what to do at this point đ
Does anyone know why the corms are growing above the soil instead of below? I have about 15 others growing in the same cabinet but none of them have corms above the soil. Weird đ€
Just received a Dragon Scale baby in the mail! đ Excited to watch her grow đȘŽ
This fella is NOT doing well. Does anyone have any advice?

Pros & Cons of Soil or LecaâŠđđŒ Iâve been contemplating changing to Leca. Wanting to know what people would recommend & personal experiences? My dragons scale, Draco đ
If I have a mature Alocasia, that is now in old potting soil, when I re-pot her, is the best medium simply LECA? Will she turn her toes up when I switch her to a medium that is so different from what she has been used to? đđđȘŽ
just took this alocasia jacklyn out of soil and think it might have a corm, can anyone confirm this before I pull it off to propagate?
Why does my self watering pot have this inside of it? What can I do to eliminate it? Randomly happened I have had this plant for about 3-4 months and this randomly happened đŁ
Look at my little black stem that Iâve grown from a bulbi! She just kicked out her second leaf and I spy a third just starting to form. She comes from a variegated momma and Iâm hoping someday she might surprise me as well!
hey peeps! i think have some base rot on my alocasia dragon scale but iâm not sure and i donât know what to do! recently i repotted into a chunkier combo of orchid mix and potting soil, before it was in way too dense of a soil. ever since i got it iâve slowly lost every single leaf (i just lopped off the last one last night) and i think the base has been rotting. iâve been really careful not to overwater.
Im honestly shocked at how fast this second leaf is growing!
First new leaf on my baby Purpley . Up until now the leaf in the back was the only one it had .
Can some one tell me which Alocasia this is ? I know there are several with similar patterns & shapes & Iâm having a hard time figuring it out . It wasnât marked when I got it . BTW my first new leaf this spring itâs been a while since itâs given me one . So shiny đ
Why is my blizzard shriveling like this? What are those brownish marks that appear? Help đ«
This utterly gorgeous specimen is pushing out yet another amazing half moon leaf đ€©đđ„ł #frydek
