HELP!!! I just got a beautiful Dragon Scale off of Fb Marketplace and I think I got played😭 I just got home and noticed these brownish spots with yellow halos around them and google is telling me it’s probably a fungal/bacterial infection💀 Has anyone else experienced this before? and if so were you able to identify it? and could you please share how you treated it??😭😭😭 The seller had it growing in one of those self watering that has a wick line and noticed that the wicks are green from algae and the water was TERRIBLY dirty.. smh I should’ve inspected the plant a little bit more before I ran off with it but none of this was shown/mentioned in her sales ad and it was at night so I just chose to trust her😩 #nowiknow

Decided to cut the mother plant yesterday, hope it survives the repot🙏🏽🙏🏽🥹

Look! Danu’s getting a new leaf! It took me a while to figure out why she wasn’t happy, but now I’ve been giving her distilled water, she’s loving life! 💚

I have two black velvets that are the same size and I got at the exact same time. Both are still in the nursery pots they came in with a mix that looks coco-coir heavy to me. Despite that, they’re doing well. Both of them sit in ceramic pots (so around the nursery pots). One pot is white, the other is dark green. They’re next to each other with the same light, humidity, temperature, and airflow. So what I can’t for the life of me figure out is why the soil in the white pot dries out twice as fast as the soil in the dark green one. Does anyone have any insights? Thanks ahead of time!

I have a beautiful black velvet Alocasia that I bought on Nov 6. I repotted it a few days later. It’s doing ok - growing a new leaf and getting taller, although it has a curling leaf and a bit of browning on one leaf (I’ve got humidity problems). However, now I want to put it in leca. Is it better to do it asap since the plant is already in a stress period, or wait several months to give it a break? Thanks in advance!

I’m reporting my Polly with arid soil and noticed this attached to the roots. I can’t tell if it’s man made or if should leave it alone?

Looks like Polly isn’t happy 😐. I repotted my Polly about a month ago and it lost 3 small leaves and these are left. It looks like one is drooping and the stem looks pruny? I’m worried because I increased the pot size it’s retaining too much liquid? I read that pon soil is best for alocasia but wondering if I should attempt to repot given it’s only been a month?

I would love some care tips on my plant!

Help please!!

I’m not a plant mom, I just received this dragon alocasia scale plant as a gift and it’s dying on me now and I have NO clue what to do… please help! I had this since feb so about 9months now, and before I was so sure it was going to die so I barely cared. But it somehow lived, and even thrived.. it had many leaves, but after I moved and repotted to a bigger pot, the nightmare began. It was growing large so I wanted to give it a big home. I repotted to a smart watering pot that had a string in the bottom that lets it self water etc… and since then it dropped so many leaves, now I only have 1 healthy one with 1 dead one and 1 new leaf. I watered it a bit often cuz I freaked out, but I stopped. A couple days ago I completely took the plant out, dug out all the roots and trimmed all rotten mushy ones (also learned about corms!). But now it’s looking all curled and crispy, but the inside of the soil is still very wet. What is wrong with this guy?! ++I used multipurpose soil with highest rating from Amazon, has tree barks/pearlites(?) etc. No pests were detected and I added a mini humidifier to make it a bit more pleasant for this plant..

Hey I’m new to taking care of this kind of Alocasia, any tips on how to not kill it? 😅 and plant care tips? Thank you!

My alocasia shelf in my greenhouse, plus my philodendron glorious. I went from having zero to 12 of these in a matter of months. They’re so amazing to watch grow! Not pictured are my cupreas, zebrina, and black stem.

HELP! My silver dragon has inflorescences and I’m not sure what to do. I tried looking up different videos on pollination but they all are on different Alocasia and the inflorescence look different. This is the only Alocasia I have. Should I try to save the pollen and freeze it until I have another Alocasia. Or can I pollinate the same plant? It also looks like there is a second one about to be exposed right under the one already bloomed.

I can’t seem to have any luck with my Alocasia Dragons😩 I got the Silver Dragon a few weeks ago and it’s been a constant struggle to keep him alive. Repotted after received but he completely drooped and I moved it to water then fluval. I just got the Dragon Scale a few days ago, repotted straight to fluval to keep in the mini greenhouse and already has yellowing leaves🥹 Could it be transplant shock? Dying soil roots until water roots grow? Do these Alocasias not like to be in fluval? Planning to eventually keep them in semi-hydro hence the repot. I’m keeping them in a mini greenhouse with other baby plants and make sure they have air and run a humidifier too, but repotted everything as I don’t have any plants in normal potting mix. I might be paranoid but I can see a slight yellowing leaf on the Alocasia Micholitziana Frydek in the greenhouse too😭 I thought the Maranta Makoyana will give me headaches🤦‍♀️ #newplantparent

My A. lauterbachiana has been droopy lately. At first I thought it was because it couldn’t support the weight of the leaves, but I’m not sure. What do you guys think?

Why is she bleeding 😭😭😭 I’m not concerned about the leaf dying off lmao all the other leaves are chilling and it just made a new one so I figure it’s just part of the plant’s life cycle, BUT WHAT IS THAT??? I’ve never seen a plant bleed like that. Maybe I’m crazy

Is this corm a goner? It got stuck in the mail and arrived cold. It’s not mushy, but… 😬 It don’t look good

I am considering a potting medium change for my two alocasias. My soil is currently mixed with orchid bark and perlite but I’m thinking it’s still not chunky enough and holds a bit too much water. My ninja is looking a little depressed which is why I am thinking about this, though it may still be acclimating. Anyone have any recommendations? I am contemplating leca but feel like I see mixed things on it. Or would just adding more bark/perlite be the easier answer?
