Is it safe to say this is a bloom & not a new leaf?? Bc Iâm probably going to chop it offđ€Ł
My pink dragon put out a new leaf and sheâs huge already! Canât wait to see the leaf when itâs fully hardened off.
Meet Athena đ€© Sheâs pregnant! Look at the size of that baby!!!

I was repotting my Alocasia at the weekend when I noticed it had the death mesh attached to it. Would I better getting rid of it now before it causes too much heartache to the plant?
New Leaf Alert âŒïžđđ Yay, so happy to see a new leaf coming in. I purchased this Alocasia from Loweâs for $12 about 2 weeks ago, lovinggg her âșïž
Help (repost) I got my Alocasia (silver dragon) (Dracula) about three days ago and Iâm starting to notice that the flowers that are supposed to be blooming are starting to burn. Today was the first day I put her into a sunny spot in my living room. She only got about three hours of sun, because I didnât want to overwhelm her. And now thereâs a scab on her leaf. Also, Iâve heard a lot about cutting off the flowers , is that something you think I should do. This is also my first time having a plant like Update 12/24 : she died a couple days after thisđ
Everyone meet Loca đâš (from aLOCAsia, get it? đ) Anyway, I got her today. Iâm so excited to add her to my plant family. Any care tips are greatly appreciated. As soon as I brought it home I made sure to check for pests and thoroughly cleaned the leaves with neem oil!
HELP!!! I just got a beautiful Dragon Scale off of Fb Marketplace and I think I got playedđ I just got home and noticed these brownish spots with yellow halos around them and google is telling me itâs probably a fungal/bacterial infectionđ Has anyone else experienced this before? and if so were you able to identify it? and could you please share how you treated it??đđđ The seller had it growing in one of those self watering that has a wick line and noticed that the wicks are green from algae and the water was TERRIBLY dirty.. smh I shouldâve inspected the plant a little bit more before I ran off with it but none of this was shown/mentioned in her sales ad and it was at night so I just chose to trust herđ© #nowiknow
Decided to cut the mother plant yesterday, hope it survives the repotđđœđđœđ„č
Look! Danuâs getting a new leaf! It took me a while to figure out why she wasnât happy, but now Iâve been giving her distilled water, sheâs loving life! đ
I planted my corm upside down đ€Šđ€Ł But itâs sprouting!!!
I have two black velvets that are the same size and I got at the exact same time. Both are still in the nursery pots they came in with a mix that looks coco-coir heavy to me. Despite that, theyâre doing well. Both of them sit in ceramic pots (so around the nursery pots). One pot is white, the other is dark green. Theyâre next to each other with the same light, humidity, temperature, and airflow. So what I canât for the life of me figure out is why the soil in the white pot dries out twice as fast as the soil in the dark green one. Does anyone have any insights? Thanks ahead of time!
I have a beautiful black velvet Alocasia that I bought on Nov 6. I repotted it a few days later. Itâs doing ok - growing a new leaf and getting taller, although it has a curling leaf and a bit of browning on one leaf (Iâve got humidity problems). However, now I want to put it in leca. Is it better to do it asap since the plant is already in a stress period, or wait several months to give it a break? Thanks in advance!
Iâm reporting my Polly with arid soil and noticed this attached to the roots. I canât tell if itâs man made or if should leave it alone?
Looks like Polly isnât happy đ. I repotted my Polly about a month ago and it lost 3 small leaves and these are left. It looks like one is drooping and the stem looks pruny? Iâm worried because I increased the pot size itâs retaining too much liquid? I read that pon soil is best for alocasia but wondering if I should attempt to repot given itâs only been a month?
I would love some care tips on my plant!
Iâm not a plant mom, I just received this dragon alocasia scale plant as a gift and itâs dying on me now and I have NO clue what to do⊠please help! I had this since feb so about 9months now, and before I was so sure it was going to die so I barely cared. But it somehow lived, and even thrived.. it had many leaves, but after I moved and repotted to a bigger pot, the nightmare began. It was growing large so I wanted to give it a big home. I repotted to a smart watering pot that had a string in the bottom that lets it self water etc⊠and since then it dropped so many leaves, now I only have 1 healthy one with 1 dead one and 1 new leaf. I watered it a bit often cuz I freaked out, but I stopped. A couple days ago I completely took the plant out, dug out all the roots and trimmed all rotten mushy ones (also learned about corms!). But now itâs looking all curled and crispy, but the inside of the soil is still very wet. What is wrong with this guy?! ++I used multipurpose soil with highest rating from Amazon, has tree barks/pearlites(?) etc. No pests were detected and I added a mini humidifier to make it a bit more pleasant for this plant..
Hey guys Iâm trynna find out whatâs going on with my alocoasia itâs been going very well until this leaf decided to turn brown I thought I was overwatering it but it continued to turn in a browner yellowish color
