Wanted to share; I’m liking how this little setup has worked so far. ~Alocasia Silver Dragon~ 🐉
My Frydek put out a pure white leaf I had to cut, its oldest leaf just died so I had to cut it off too. Luckily I see a new leaf with green coming in but I decided to cut a plastic cup to fit over it to boost its humidity while it’s going through this tough time.
Are these corms too premature? To propagate..
I got another Alocasia!! 😝 AND IT HAS A GROWING CORM!
I can’t tell if my baby is becoming translucent due to temperature or needing a repot? It’s watered correctly, but has not been fertilized yet since I got her in November. She has grown a lot!
Hello! Is this a root that is too shallow? It’s essentially on the surface.
The “new” leaf on my Polly has looked like this for 6 weeks! Could the plant be dormant? Would that happen while in the middle of growing a new leaf? It currently has three great leaves. Any ideas why the new growth is stunted like this?
my first alocasia polly 🤞🏻 i know these can be hard, any tips or tricks are appreciated!!
Curling on one side…? Does anyone know if this is light, water, humidity, or potentially being a newer leaf?
The one leaf left on my Alocasia Hilo died and while moving the body to the graveyard I found this.. so is the plant dormant or dead?
Please help! I got this Alocasia (I believe it’s a nebula) brand new roughly three weeks ago, I’m very new to plants so it’s in its nursery pot which has drainage, but roughly a week after bringing it home the tips of the leaves started to brown a little, I thought maybe it was just stress or something and I didn’t want to rush into anything. But it’s been a week and a bit now and it has progressed significantly and is now on another leaf too. All my other plants are doing really well and are showing no signs of this same thing so I don’t think it’s a fungus or something. Honestly I’m lost, please if anyone can give me some tips on how to care for it, and try to save it. I water it roughly every week and a bit when the soil goes dry on the top inch or so, I haven’t yet fertilised it since buying, tbh I’m following Planta’s advice with the fertilising, it’s in a south facing window the sunlight doesn’t actually go any higher than that but is in the room all day so I don’t think it’s been burnt and I’ve been misting it daily as I’m thinking it might be humidity as my room is quite dry but the Calathea next to it is thriving giving out big new leaves so idk. Someone please help me try to save it. P.S. I’m kinda broke so was hoping not to have to buy a Humidifier if humidity is the issue but if that’s the case then so be it.
It’s so cool to watch this unfurl! It totally surprised me. 😍
My alcoasia black velvet has definitely fallen ill. I repotted to a pot with better drainage and I thought she was getting better with this new growth but this white chalky thing just came out instead of a new leaf 😅 does anyone have any idea what is going on? New to plants…
Hi all. I got this alocasia melo over the weekend. Any idea why its leaves are turning limey green/yellow? Thanks!
I’m in the process of transitioning my alocasia polly to leca and I found a bunch of corms while repotting! Any tips for propagation?
First time posting! I just wanted to share all my babies living in leca!
Just unraveled what a beautiful baby🥰
So it goes 🤷♀️
I went away for two weeks and my Alocasia (Polly?) is doing very bad. It lost a leaf. Any tips for bringing this baby back?
This Black Velvet was bought with 2 leaves. One of them was imperfect so I trimmed it. It seemed fine for a while but I just noticed a quick progression of yellowing as shown in the update photo. I’ve cut the leaf off and thrown it away. Where it’s not just yellowing, but also has some dry graying on the end, I’m hoping that it’s unique enough to help you all identify exactly what the problem was. The other leaf is in perfect condition and there is another leaf starting to pop out. The yellow leaf is the oldest leaf if that helps. Thank you for any feedback you might have.
