My Alocasia ‘Mayan Mask’ has been thriving for months! I received her from an online seller mid-February of this year. March 1 she had a sad, yellowish leaf and nothing like that since until yesterday/today. She has 8 leaves and 3 of them have developed a yellowish/rust color and are drooping. I went through the self diagnosis and then it was kicked up to the docs for a diagnosis. In the meantime, I’m hoping to get all y’all’s expert opinions😊 She sat on the side of tub for a while, u til she got too big. Replanted and moved her in April-ish. Today was her water day (no, I don’t blindly go by the app timing, I check her EVERY SINGLE TIME before watering) and when I went to do so, I saw the state her leaves were in. I’ve been doing plant chores today and have witnessed the decline in them throughout the day. So, have not moved her, have not overwatered her (or underwatered), no change in/strength of her fertilizer (Foliage Pro) diluted with every watering. I did give her a first drench dose of Big Foot Mycorrhizal fungi + BB 7-10 days ago and have not used fertilizer since then. She hasn’t lost any no thrips or other pests. The remaining leaves appear to be in perfect condition. I stated 3 looked bad, one additional leaf looks like it may have the beginnings of yellowish color spots faintly toward the edge in a few small places, therefore leaving 4 perfect leaves. The only additional detail I can add is that the affected leaves are the 3&4 oldest on the plant, with the newest 4 just fine. I be grateful for any thoughts, opinions or general feedback about what is going on with her. Thanks in advance for any and all responses. PS. This past week I did use some plant Velcro to slightly hold petioles more upright as some were spread out a bit more than usual. Not really “droopy” looking and no yellowing or other signs of what they look like now.

I know Cupreas tend to point their leaves down any way but I’d like to move mine to a less bright spot in the hope the leaves will at least be horizontal (EDIT I mean vertical). The problem is I’ve had it in my milsbo greenhouse, wherei can’t really enjoy it tucked in a corner. I have a dragon tooth that is quite happy where I have it with 30-50% humidity. Are cupreas adaptable to that?

I almost gave up on my Alocasia Polly. It’s been by far my fussiest Alocasia but then I saw this and there’s even more growth! I am simply ecstatic over this 🥰 side note: do you trim or leave the brown things that grow towards the bottom of the stems?

Update on my Alocasia Baginda: I have since moved it away from my window sill as i believed the window and rain was negatively affecting it it’s condition has worsened however i’ve noticed a new leave so i believe the current leaves should die off and it’ll bounce back beautifully, any 2nd opinions?

So proud. Jacklyn went from just not exactly crushing it to the owner of the biggest leaf in the house in just a few short weeks. I was not letting the roots dry enough actually so I gave a little space and shortly after she pushed a big one! Not the best picture but promise it's big 🤭

She's giving me another inflo!! I let the first one do it's thing. I cut it when it dried. I gave her a repot. Leaves are still coming in like crazy and here we go again. Her health didnt decline after the first. Didnt slow down new growth. I'm going to leave this one to cycle through as well. However, I do wish they were more attractive 🙃

Is this a longiloba aurea or lemon lime? I bought it as a big chonk of "variegated" but unsure of which cultivar it is.

I have this Regal shield Aurea that currently potted in fluval/perlite and the newest leaf has these weird looking spots. All the other leafs are fine.Does anybody know what this is and what could cause this. TIA

i bought a variegated frydek three months ago. i kept the old substrate it came in in a ziploc bag and forgot about it- until i went to throw it out today and found BABY PLANTS???? how are they alive???? am i gods favorite child?????

I stopped at Lowe's today and found this pitiful creature shoved into the back of a shelf, dying all alone. I couldn't leave her to suffer like that, so I asked if they would discount and they gave her to me for $5, which I think the ceramic pot is worth. Got her home and out of the soaking wet, completely compacted soil and into some chunky aroid mix, chopped off the dead and dying leaves (I left the one with the tear because it still looks decently healthy) and put her in a nice dappled spot in my window (away from everyone else just in case.) Wish us luck! (Oh! And she gave me a bunch of little corms as well!
