I've scoured Google and AI for info but I thought I would ask planta Philo parents now about winter and philos... I live in Seattle in a top floor apartment with lots of big windows. Great for lighting but it's not the easiest for controlling the environment. I've already had to turn on the radiator on a pretty decent level to keep a tropical temperature in the living room lol. I haven't switched on the furnace there is always that next step ... I've weather taped some windows. Humidity is not an issue I have enough plants that they keep it balmy. I will be purchasing more living room and plant furniture soon I figure it would help to get them off the floor. And I've thought about buying a heat pad (just for the philos), worst case scenario. I already have growlights on. Any other suggestions? From your experience what temps do your philos tolerate in the winter? Is a cabinet pretty much mandatory to keep them healthy? I don't mind them slowing down a bit during the dark winter months but I don't want to kill my collection during their first winter... And id rather not have to pay to keep my apartment a sauna all winter long either if I can help it Thank you Philo parents! As you can see Enzo is already giving me dramatic leaf curl and condensation 🤭 so he will need a remedy by winter I expect. Oh and lastly I forgot to mention Seattle has been in the mid to low 50s F and I've been measuring on the floor next to the Philos like 18.1- 20.4C humidity 70-80% . K thanks

Noticed the dark spot on this leaf last week. Today I noticed it’s gotten bigger and the leaf is yellowing. I repotted the plant last month and haven’t watered for 19 days because the soil has been wet. Is it just a bad leaf or should I be concerned about root rot?

I done messed up A-A-RON. I broke off my new leaf on my white wizard. Is there any hope for me? Where will a new leaf come from now?! 😭😭😭😭😭😭

My philodendron only pushes small leaves, why ??? It's driving me crazy, she is in a self watering clay pot, under a grow light. Any tips ? Thank you :)

They’re gonna be twins!!!! They even have a matching single browning leaf lol I’m literally guessing at the plants everyday. No idea what I’m doing just ran with it lol. I have a very wide range of plants for someone that started in July lol I’m almost to 40 plants!

Has anyone seen this happen to a philo, where every once in a while leaves get so badly stuck that they seem permanently damaged? I kept humidity higher than usual and it otherwise is growing great, it has a fertilizer stick and has good grow lamp access. The latest leaf came out beautifully.

hey gang my philodendrons take so long to pop out new leaves, and both my pink princess and white wizard philodendrons keep giving me teeny tiny leaves. any ideas to 1. make philodendron leaf growth faster 2. grow bigger and fuller leaves for philodendrons i’ve tried more food, more light, more water… not really sure what else to do anything helps!!! 💗💗

Ummmmm is this how my Florida is supposed to look? It’s a new unfurling leaf and it’s at the bottom of the leaf it looks like it snapped in half or something? I’ve never seen anything like this in my other plants and I’m really scared I snapped it while wiping the leaves or watering! Please help!

I can’t make it out of a store without plants….lol Anyways, I had to save the Swiss cheese. It’s in bad shape. Please give me recommendations on how best to go about getting him together. And I bought two glorious. One is worse than the other. I’m asking for some direction on those as well.

The new growth on my baby came out rotten! So I cut her off to make sure it doesn’t spread if it’s a pest issue but I didn’t see any!! I’ve had her really close to a light as well as a humidifier right under her and she’s in a group of plants that are doing really good in that area!! I see this tiny stem forming under the rotten stem…. And it seems to be doing good!! Should I cut that off as well? Or see how it grows? I think it might be a new leaf but I’m new to pink princesses and im not sure but my silver sword seems to love where I have her! Ps the arrow is to show where my humidifier is!

PLEASE HELP!! Is she beyond saving 😭😭 she came off of a highly overwatered and under lit white princess, and I repot it in much better drainage but a way too big pot and put it directly under a grow light. This morning I put it in this MUCH smaller one, but it’s feeling very delicate and rubbery, and the leaves are starting to brown. Roots look healthy still, so should I and cut off these two leaves and allow it to start over? Or see if these leaves recover?

Hello!! I recently decided I am in love with philodendrons and recently got a "Erubescens" which could mean anything...I have had a Birkin and a Silver Sword for a couple years, no major issues but about a month ago i got about 4 more...on this one, the leaves were getting kinda twisted/curly so I repotted since it was root bound, then officially brought it in the house...now I am seeing tiny yellow dots, leaves are kinda wimpy and it just plain seems unhappy. I do not see anything moving so i don't think bugs, but...can anyone with more experience help and also any tips would be appreciated 😉 thanks!
