Has anyone seen this happen to a philo, where every once in a while leaves get so badly stuck that they seem permanently damaged? I kept humidity higher than usual and it otherwise is growing great, it has a fertilizer stick and has good grow lamp access. The latest leaf came out beautifully.
I feel it’s a humidity issue and when they get real bad I do assist. I had a syngonium who didn’t unfurl for 3 weeks. I helped and now she’s about a quarter away from fully unfurling. I cut off the really bad leaves, not necessary though. I sometimes spray directly on the leaves and then keep next to humidifier.

How did you help your syngonium leaf? I have a similar one and when I’ve tried to manually unfurl it the leaf just rolls back up again.

I just watched a reel where this happened and they sprayed the leaves, took 2 Q-tips and wet the ends, then gently used the q -tips to separate the curled leaf to release it. It did not show how long it took for leaf to fully open.

My syngonium does this a lot. I live in west Texas and keeping humidity high is a constant battle. I always just help it unfurl a bit. I usually do a little, then a little more the next day, and so on. After it’s mostly unfurled, the plant can usually do the rest. I’m not sure how this applies to philodendrons. I only have the Brazil philodendron, and so far it hasn’t done this.

I just tried to release mine and broke it off 😭😭😭 will try spray bottle next time, good to know.
