Hello! Very new to the Philodendron world. Picked up this monster split leaf at a local nursery in Green Bay WI. We named it Dr. Phil. Wondering about the root system and if it’s too root bound? Tried to use a moisture meter and couldn’t even get it to poke in anywhere. Like there’s so many roots and not much soil. But it seemed to be thriving at the greenhouse. Only have had it home for a day. Hoping acclimation goes well. Also wondering if anything needs to be done about the large arial roots coming off the trunk. Any advice would be wonderful!! Wanna keep Dr. Phil healthy and about to provide my house the plant therapy it needs. I’d rather not learn the hard way from him, he can be feisty sometimes.

Can someone tell me why the brown on the leaves 🍂 please 😅

Dear Plant.... I know you think I did you dirty by chopping you to pieces. But you are 10 years old and very special, as you were part of Sam Kitty's arrangement when he died. This is going to give you the opportunity to restore yourself to your former glory. I know you are going to be happier without those long empty vines with just a few small leaves on the end. I be-leaf in you!

When I said I loved variegation I didn’t mean that much!!

I accidentally broke my pink princess’s brand new leaf and the leaf that’s been incubating :( is there any hope for her? Can I prop the broken leaf??

I switched my silver sword to pon in August. I guess it’s safe to say he likes it.

Is is my fault that her new leaf is very rounded and not straight like the rest? Does she need more light? Plant food? I’ve been following the apps schedule and there’s a humidifier by her. She looks really healthy and strong. She’s also with child so ik she’s happy. Anything I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to her new born baby leaf lol?

I feel like quite suddenly my ring of fire looks awful. Cut off a couple of the lower leaves tonight that didn’t look like they were great so it could spend more energy elsewhere. I moved it to the window. Not sure why this particular one is being so finicky. I’ve had really good luck with all my other philodendrons. At one point on that reddish growth in the middle, I looked over and the top half of it was black, so I cut that off and unwrapped it and the red underneath looks healthy. Then today I was looking at it, and the leaves look on their way to bad. The photo on my nightstand is when I first got it on December 4th. So it’s not very old. The other three leaf photos are from tonight. Am I just being paranoid and it’s fine?

This was sold to me as a small cutting with the label “Philodendron Jose Buono,” but after seeing other Jose Buonos recently, I don’t think that’s what this is. Planta struggled to ID it correctly. Can anyone tell me what type of philodendron I have here? 🤞🏼 My best guess so far is a Burle Marx?

I’ve been looking forward to this nubby leaf to unfurl for WEEKS! Ever since I put it in kokedama and now I’m really sad because I’m out of town this weekend and I’m going to miss filming the timelapse of it opening up because my iPad will be with me in Maui 😩🫠 Am I the only one who hates to miss the unfurling of the leaves? 🍃

Does anyone know what is happening to my philodendron :( These holes keep spreading and one of the new leaves turned blackish and fell off.

hi! i got this lil guy back in june of last year, repotted in october (root bound) and it’s been doing pretty good, putting out new leaves regularly and i haven’t had to keep such a close eye on it until recently. this newest leaf has a brown tip to it which is concerning because the last few leaves haven’t had that issue (a few of the older ones near the base do, but they have been like that since i purchased). i keep my humidity around 55-65% so i’m not sure what could be happening. any advice or tips are greatly appreciated! <3 *first pic: brown tipped leaf, second pic: whole plant

Went to Target for body wash, couldn’t find it, but look what I did find! I can’t wait to clean her up, and quarantine her for a bit. Target’s collection was very nice.

My golden goddess is getting very tall. How do I keep her upright? I have a couple stakes already but she’s at 3ft 10in and growing 😳
