I bought my Sarah awhile back as a cutting on Etsy. The seller told me it was not a micans although thatâs totally what it appeared to be. She said it was a philodendron kirkbrideii. Very similar to micans but the leaves grow large rather than staying small. I googled and she was right but I still wasnât sure thatâs what I was getting. Itâs not on Planta so itâs categorized as a micans but look at her newest leaves! And she hasnât climbed at all for them to be getting big for that reason! I love her!! đđđđ

New leaves coming out of new leaves. Is this a normal thing? Iâve never seen this from my other philodendrons. My humidity averages 60% but I could always move it to my sunroom where I keep the humidity higher for my calatheas đ€š

I got so lucky today and the kind dude at my local nursery gave me a cutting of this Philodendron âPink Princessâ after he heard me gushing over it and comparing prices. Iâm completely new to propagating and my other water propagations have rotted so Iâm trying straight into soil. Is this ok or should I really be trying to get roots from putting it in water? It had two little arial roots attached before I put it into dirt. Iâm about to go away for a week and didnât anticipate finding this or getting a cutting, is there anything I should tell my roommate to be aware of? I have it on my patio, close to the back wall where thereâs no direct sunlight but the handrail still gets some rays so itâs bright imo. I have it in a mix of soil and perlite. She has some slight crisping in Any advice is extremely appreciated!

i am generally able to identify different plant variations myself, especially philodendrons, but the more i look at my ring of fire as it matures, iâm wondering if itâs actually a caramel marble, or one of the stems is (the back one, farthest from the window, particularly. the stems are not attached to each other, and have never been since i purchased it)⊠itâs in a west facing window (and has been for 2+ years), so i donât know how it would be so sun stressed, especially in the back. anyone have a strong opinion on it? regardless, im obsessed w her and her blooms đ„č

What is your favorite kind of philodendron, and best names you thought of for them?

My pink princess doesnât have any roots. I thought this was one but its a lost cause. It had two little leaves and idk how they havent died. I put it water to start over but nothing had happened (08/28). Ive been told that what I have submerged in water wont ever grow roots, I have to cut underneath where the leaves are growing and put that in water. What do you guys think?
