The blooms on my Hoya Noona opened up! They smell like cake batter! đđ
Itâs also called Hoya David Cummungii. This variety has yellow flowers. There is also a pink flower variety. I got it last summer from Gardino Nursery in a buy one get one free sale. I bought it in a 4â pot for the foliage. Itâs a very fast grower compared to my other hoyas.
None of my hoyas bloomed last year. Six of them are blooming. The only thing changed is they are getting brighter filtered sunlight in the morning. They are in very bright shade outside from 10am. Iâm using diluted liquid fertilizer with SuperThrive on all my plants. I used timed release fertilizer beads last year.

When i was on extended vacation last year my Hoya bloomed. It was at the end of bloom when I got back in October. After the two flowers died I cut off the stem which I later learned was a mistake. Since I wasnât around when it bloomed and it was her first time, I donât know what a flower bud looks like. Could this be one?

When I got Sonny (Detective Carisi) he was just a couple of lonely leaves and a stem wrapped in cellophane. Now heâs got some of my favorite pretty painted looking leaves. Big and strong!

Help! My green bean Hoya has a bunch of blooms that never opened and look dry and the leaves are yellowing. Is it under watered? Not enough sun?

She bloomed for the first time yesterday! Iâve had this one for almost two years. She tried to produce a peduncle last year but it dried up or I knocked it off or something. There is another umbel further down the vine that looks like it will bloom next week maybe

I have had my Hoya Noona plant about 8 months. Itâs been in a northeast facing bay window most of the time growing lots of vines and no flowers. I put it outside the window into high humidity, 87°F average temperatures with very bright indirect light in the shade of the house. It put out its first ever peduncles after being outside 3 weeks! Itâs the fourth hoya that started blooming after i moved them to that location. I might build a living wall of hoyas on this outside north wall! Itâs their happy place and mine!đ

Someone along the way asked about killing mealybugs with alcohol or maybe they asked if what they had was a mealybug. So, this is a highly magnified before and after pic of what they look like alive and dead. If you spray perlite with alcohol, it stays white. Just sayinâ that when you aim the alcohol swab or spray at a mealybug and say âoh youâre toastâ they actually are đ€Ł

Hello! Iâm very new to hoyas and was wondering if anybody has tips! I was given a very long cutting from my friendâs dad and I cut it into many pieces! Itâs starting to grow roots now! How long do I have to wait to transfer it to soil? Will it also grow new stem and leaves?? Does anyone know what kind this is?

I never thought I would see a day where I can say I have 4 hoyas blooming! My Hoya Krohniana Super Silver has 2 peduncles. I bought it 9 months ago. The blooms smell like honeysuckle and the bergamot (bee balm) scent in the vintage Posnerâs blue hair grease!đ If you know, you know!âïž
My Hoya Heuschkeliana (yellow flowers) was bought in bloom. Iâm happy itâs still vigorously blooming 5 weeks after it arrived! They smell like buttered popcorn up close. đŒ
My Hoya Lacunosa and Hoya Lacunosa Royal Flush are both blooming. There blooms are similar. Both arrived about 2 months ago. All of the hoyas get morning sun and bright afternoon shade. I moved 10 more plants to that location hoya âhappy place!ââAll are easy care plants.
