Help Hoya friends! In your opinion, do you see any species other than Carnosa Krimson Princess (some reverted) in this big pot? Thank you!! Pardon her, she’s dusty from being outside this Spring.

Totally relatable! My princess occasionally pushes out all green leaves, so that’s my opinion

🙈 thank you for commenting!! I’m pretty sure those came from a big Costa Farms pot of “princess”

Follow a vine that has all green leaves, if there’s even one leaf on that vine with variegation it’s all Princess! The more I look at the pictures, the more I doubt myself 🤣

The difference in leaf shape is just insane. How can one have such long pointy leaves and other be short and rounded 🙃

There’s probably 8-10 separate plants in there. I do remember that they all started with variegation, some have reverted but I don’t mind I think it’s pretty all mixed together. I’m just going to go with ignorance is bliss 🤣

This is a Hoya Carnosa “Krimson Princess.” The non variegated parts are all considered Carnosa , which is just the bigger family when they aren’t variegated.

Thank you, I know it’s reverted. I guess I should’ve been more specific that I’m wondering if anyone sees any other species of Hoya mixed in other than Carnosa. I’m glad you don’t 😇

The leaf shape and color on a carnosa can change drastically depending on growing conditions. This is H. carnosa (inner variegated) Krimson Princess is a (expired) trademark name that applied to a certain subset of Hoyas distributed in the 70’s by Cobia. If another species would be mixed in, you could only identify when it blooms. You could guess by feeling the leaf after tracing the vine of course but the blooms are how we differentiate species 🙂

All the blooms this pot has produced are consistent so I think I’m in the clear 😉 thanks for your comment
