Hello Everyone! My garlic plant is not looking so good. The other one that I grew at the same time is in a grow bag and is doing great. At first I thought it was almost time to harvest but it’s only been about 5 1/2 months (since end of Oct). What do you guys think it could be?? Thank you 💕
Too much water, Improper drainage, too little/too much light, & pests are all factors that could be causing yellowing leaves, I’d check to make sure those things are good 👍

1 mi piace I noticed you have a sticky trap for fungus gnats I am assuming, if they have taken over the soil this could possibly be the cause,
1 mi piaceI’ve been spraying neem oil and it seems to be working but I think it’s time for a serious intervention. Any suggestions? I was thinking of mixing neem meal into the soil and topping with sand. Thank you 🙏
1 mi piace If you have an issue with them (i get it) I’ve got some tips: You can water the soil with a mix of 1 part 3 % hydrogen peroxide & 3 parts water, this will kill the larvae in the soil & any other pests. Just don’t over do this as it can kill the good bacteria in the soil too. Also don’t do this after a long draught as it can shock the roots. Keep it pruned and the soil free of dead foliage - pests love this Try your best not to overwater as pests love drenched soil as well Wash the pant with water, then wipe down with neem oil or an organic spray like captain jacks. (Ok for use on edible plants just be sure to wipe wash off before consuming. I like this option better as neem oil can have a very strong smell, but both are effective at killing the adults.) Peppermint oil and water is also a good mix to spray plants with. Pests hate peppermint and it will not harm your plant. I hope this helps!!

I have not grown garlic before, but the tomatoes I grew in bags dried out faster than the ones in plastic pots since they had more airflow. So if those are doing great, I’m guessing these are too wet. Maybe try watering them less often than the grow bags?
