Just picked up an Aloe and Red Dragon Flower. Does anyone have care tips for the RDF? Also, if someone could specify the type of aloe that would be great. Any input appreciated!!

Does anyone know how I can get my thanksgiving cactus to grow or flower? It was propagated about a year ago and I havenât seen any growth or anything and the flower fell off a week after I got it.
String of pearls has white mold. I sprayed with fungicide a couple days ago and mold is starting to go away. Was watered at least a couple weeks ago and soil is still moist. Should I repot with a succulent mix and perlite or just let it dry out? Itâs currently in the generic nursery soil mix.
hi! (posting for a friend) she was wondering how she could help her aeonium! she had it outside, and moved it inside when it started getting cold. i told her she could try to propogate that one healthy looking leaf. other than that im not sure what the cause of the brown might be. any help is greatly apprciated!!
Scale and rust versus Astrophytum. Has anyone else had the idea that you maybe over-fertilized your plants? Itâs a working theory over here in my post-Scaleđ€mad science lab, as I only recently decided to use fertilizer. Well, a theory based on the first results when looking up Scale about fertilizer often being a potential cause. Nitrogen levels, right? Note also that the plants affected by Scale in my collection are the meaty, round ones. Scale did not care for Lithops. It wanted fat Mammillaria and juicy echinopsis. My worries at the old house were over fruit flies and aphids until I stopped re-homing spiders (a polite way to say âvacuum the ceilingâ). There are 0 spiders in my new place, and residents here feel the need to post about hypothetical spiders in a Facebook group. I did the whole de-louse and scrub with a hose (kitchen sink) on several cactus. It feels really strange to treat a plant with such temporary violence (I canât think of a better word). I hate Scale.
could anyone tell me why the leafs at the bottom have fell off and why itâs tipping to one side?
Heya, so Iâm very new to cacti and donât reallyyy know much about them. I repotted this one over a week ago as it got too big for its original one. Then not long after I saw this green shoot coming out the soil. Iâm just curious as to what it is and why it sprang up. If anyone could tell me and also the specific cactus type that would be great thanks.
What is this? Hey there! I found this plant abandoned at college. I figured itâs because it was looking puny and someone just didnât want to take care of it. So I decided I could probably save it. I was just going to transfer it to a different pot and take a look at the root system while I was at it. Iâm actually just wondering how to identify this plant. Itâs obvious itâs a succulent but does anyone know what kind?? This is my first post⊠so Thanks in advance Iâm thinking some kind of stonecrop??
STRING OF PEARLS QUESTION My new string of pearls soil is damp. It was watered 19 days ago. Is it weird that itâs still damp? Also some strands shriveled up and when I squeeze the beads theyâre not entirely firm but not super squishy thereâs a little give to them tho. Any thoughts on what to do? Should I leave it alone or is it over watered?
Iâm finally able to start transforming my space into something that feels like home, that feels ârightâ. I obtained a pathos a week ago and transplanted it into my isopod habitat and then yesterday my husband and I repotted a few things we had on hand. There was an alligator plant we put in a pretty clay pot and a big bushy succulent (a rescue from Loweâs) thatâs going dormant we put out in the yard. Heâs had a tall harry fella that looks obscene that started out as a cheap Walmart cactus quite a long time ago. So the bug bit me hard last night and I added 4 more plants including a painted young short leaf aloe, a golden barrel ball cactus. One of those neat tri sectioned cacti with the colorful ball top⊠I also picked up my first monstera! have the technical name for them but theyâre back in my plant list. I put the little tri guy in with my snake plant I repotted. Itâs been struggling because it was left out in the cold a couple times but weâll take good care of her now⊠oh! And my big ole rosemary who is also a rescue. I can give you all of their new names but this post is already too long đ
Please meet my girl Sharon, sheâs not doing well. Iâm looking for some advice on her care. Iâve had her for a little over 2 month. She was hanging in my bathroom over my tub so she did get a little humidity in the evenings. But I noticed just recently when I get home from work, she was dropping little droplets in my tub. Iâm so frustrated cause I want her to be OK. Any suggestions anyone? And by the way I donât use a heating in my home itâs pretty cold here in Los Angeles in the evening upper 40âs at night.
Any thoughts on what type of cactus this is? I was told it is a Peanut cactus but the spines are not too soft and they are golden. It also doesnât seem as thick as a peanut cactus but itâs not thin enough to be a Rattail cactus. Hand for size reference. So confused! đ€ Side note: I know heâs looking a bit rough. He got knocked over yesterday and needs some TLC.
HELP HELP guys!! I got this baby in June and I donât know what is wrong with this now. It has got wrinkly leaves and i am kind of bothered. I canât understand what happened to it. I did take off the old leaves. Please help.
My succulent isnât looking very good. It doesnât have many roots or a stem to really hold it in the soil. Itâs more just resting on top of the soil. How can I encourage root growth and save it?
Hellooo! I am hoping for some tips for repotting this buddy. I know string of pearls usually have pretty shallow roots and you shouldnât have to repot them too often, but this baby is big and I donât want any rot or overcrowding to happen. Iâve noticed the top of her head has gotten a bit crowded too, making it hard for me to check the soil for moisture. She still has some flowers so I think sheâs still happy but Iâm not sure 1) HOW to repot Iâd I should (I mean how do I not cause damage??), and 2) when itâs best to repot these. Thoughts??? Should I change the pot? I need to get to propagating lol
Help!!!! Not sure whatâs going on with this guy. Seems like I might need to put some more cactus soil in its pot, because itâs kind of sticking out of it, meaning I can easily pull it out of the dirt. The bottom layer of leaves/stems are dried out as well (tried to get pictures). It also seems to be growing towards to one side. Thereâs also a little white fuzzy growth on it. Not sure if this is because the plant is a cobweb hens and chicksâŠIâm not really sure what this plant is, some people have told me itâs a type of house leek. Also for more information, I live in Chicago, and this guy sits in the only north facing window that I have. It gets a little cold near the window. These days itâs cloudy most days, and around the 30s-40s outside, but I have my heater turned to 70. I repotted it from its plastic pot two or three months ago.
I stole the seeds from my pink dragon fruit about a month and a half ago. And we finally have some cactus action!! If anyone knows anything about dragon fruit and how to take care of the plant plz comment! Iâm lucky I made it this far lol
Has anyone successfully grown a split rock plant here? If so, can you share your watering schedule and do you know if the old dried up leaves need to be removed?
My little guy lost a limb today I just noticed. Does anyone know what happened or how I can help them survive moving forward? The rest of them seems to be in ok shape
Some beautiful succulents I updated with photos in the app. Such vibrant colors and different textures.
